This role involves supporting plant radiological design, analysis, and regulatory compliance, acting as a key member of a multidisciplinary engineering team.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nInterface and support a geographically diverse and international design team to develop supporting design documentation\n\nDevelop and review system- and component-level specifications and scopes of work\n\nPerform engineering and design evaluations in accordance with nuclear codes, standards, licensing requirements, and NRC regulations\n\nSpecify and analyze instrumentation measurement techniques for sodium fast reactors and integrated energy storage technologies\n\nAnalyze and apply regulatory criteria to complex instrument and control system designs\n\nDevelop and review technical design documents, such as system requirements and interface control documents\n\nCreate and manage drawing packages including P&IDs, control system architecture, and installation drawings\n\nGenerate integrated design packages for key systems and components\n\nProvide technical direction and oversight of supplier projects, ensuring deliverables meet requirements\n\nSupport licensing activities related to safety analysis reports\n\nAssist with planning activities for established systems and components\n\nAnalyze design changes and their impacts, applying effective change control principles\n\nLead design of I&C and supporting electrical systems from requirements through final design\n\nQualifications\n\nB.S. or higher in controls, electrical, or related discipline from an accredited university\n\n10+ years of direct experience with instrumentation and controls systems\n\nExperience in instrumentation and controls development, diagnostics, and design delivery\n\nAbility to work with nuclear reactor safety systems or nuclear instrumentation systems (desired but not required)\n\nFamiliarity with IEEE and IEC standards (desired but not required)\n\nKnowledge of nuclear power plant quality assurance standards such as 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and ASME NQA-1 (desired but not required)\n\nExperience designing high-temperature processes (desired but not required)\n\nProficiency with CAD software, technical writing, communication, and team leadership\n\nDemonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks in a multidisciplinary environment\n\nHigh level of trust, integrity, and team-oriented attitude\n\nAbility to coordinate and lead engineering efforts with minimal supervision\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with nuclear reactor safety systems or nuclear instrumentation\n\nFamiliarity with industrial process flow diagrams and piping & instrument diagrams\n\nExperience with formal I&C system startup testing procedures\n\nThe position does not require travel and is based in Bellevue, Washington.\n\nPay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
