It involves solving complex automation and\nprogramming challenges with no supervision and escalating only the most critical issues when necessary. The Sr.\nControls Engineer is expected to be available outside of standard working hours to support urgent production needs when required.\nThis role provides support and technical training to all technicians in the organization. The primary goal is to quickly advance the technical competence of all technicians.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex programming issues in control systems and automation equipment. Identify and engage external expertise when necessary\nDebug and implement process improvements for assembly and manufacturing line controls to enhance efficiency, reliability, and safety.\nDesign, develop, and optimize control concepts for automated equipment and systems.\nTroubleshoot and modify robot-to-PLC interface programs to ensure seamless integration and performance.\nMaintain, update, and improve vision inspection systems as part of the automation process.\nSupport maintenance teams in diagnosing and resolving equipment-related issues.\nProvide hands-on training and technical guidance to controls & maintenance personnel on control systems and automation equipment.\nStay current with new technologies, software, and hardware to maintain a high level of technical proficiency.\nExecute special projects and assignments as directed by management.\nDemonstrate strong working knowledge and capability in PLC programming languages.\nThe standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, with flexibility required.\n\nQualifications\n\nEducation and Experience:\nDegree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required.\nAdvanced knowledge of PLC programming is expected, typically gained through a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or automation environment.\nFive years minimum experience and/or specialized training in industrial control systems, automation, robotics is required.\n\nQualification Requirements:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. May assist in orienting and training lower-level employees.\nComputer Skills:\nMust have advanced computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software.\nExisting knowledge and experience w/ Nexeed-MES and portfolio is plus.\nERP or other manufacturing execution software experience is plus\nMust be capable of learning other software packages.\n\nOther Skills and Abilities:\nIndividual must possess the interpersonal skills to communicate with coworkers.\nProject Management experience is plus\nPhysical Demands/Work Environment:\nMust have the ability to work in a manufacturing assembly environment.
