Join us and discover a pathway for career advancement where your hard work is not only recognized but rewarded.\n\nThis role is a permanent full-time position working Monday through Friday on our 2nd shift.\n\nWhat you will do as a Machine Operator:\n\nRotate through various job responsibilities and tasks within your assigned workspace on an hourly basis.\nResponsible for safely operating industrial machinery.\nWork collaboratively with team members to achieve production goals.\nMaintaining a commitment to quality throughout the production process.\nConduct routine inspections of machinery to identify any signs of wear, damage, or malfunction, reporting findings to supervisors and maintenance for preventive action.\nActively participate in quality improvement initiatives.\nOperates the Sawmill stacker machinery and equipment. Requirements for machine operation include: standing for most of shift and pushing buttons to operate the Sawmill Stacker. The operator must be able to determine the lumber size to indicate the correct pack size of each product. Operators ensure that lumber is stacked according to standards of quality that allow for adequate drying of the lumber. Each layer must have sticks and each stick should be 2’ apart unless otherwise instructed.\nStraightens lumber and assists with lumber cross-ups. The stacker operator will be required on occasion to straighten crossed-up lumber on the stacker chains, rerun belt, unscrambler, and incline chains. Straightening cross-ups involves lifting, pushing, and pulling lumber from 5 to 50 lbs.\nPerforms cleanup duties around the Sawmill Stacker machine center. Uses brooms, air hoses, and physical labor to clean the stacker area and pick up stray lumber around the stacker and outfeed chains.\nAny other duties assigned by supervisor\n\nExperience and skills that will help you stand out:\n\nAbility to work in a safe and efficient manner in a fast-paced production environment.\nAbility to perform repetitive, manual tasks for extended periods of time including piling lumber, standing for long hours, walking, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50lbs.\nAbility to work in an environment that includes exposure to environmental elements, moving mechanical equipment, loud noise, and dust.\n1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment would be considered a plus.
