Salary within the posted range is determined based on an individual’s experience, education, certifications, and overall qualifications, and may be further adjusted based on benefit selections.\n\nJob Description:\nWe are seeking The BH/AV PRIME program who seeking a versatile “Jack of All Trades” Software Engineer 2 to contribute on a small, high-impact software development team. If you enjoy taking ideas from concept to working prototype in fast, iterative cycles and you’re excited about learning new technologies as you go, this role is designed for you. We’re looking for a broadly skilled engineer who is comfortable working across the stack, jumping into unfamiliar problem spaces, and helping drive meaningful improvements in how our organization builds and operates software.\n\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements.\nImplement features end to end, spanning UI, services, data access, and integration points as needed.\nUse modern software development and design methodologies to build and run simulations in development and test environments.\nProvide input to software components of system design, including hardware/software trade-offs, software reuse strategies, and effective use of COTS/GOTS solutions versus new development.\nPerform requirements analysis and synthesis from system level down to individual modules and services.\nBuild and evolve microservices and related APIs to support scalable, maintainable architectures.\nDevelop and consume RESTful services to integrate with other systems and clients.\nContainerize applications and services (Podman/Docker) and deploy them using orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.\nDiagnose and troubleshoot complex issues across application, data, and infrastructure layers, including performance analysis and optimization.\nWork independently when needed, demonstrating ownership, initiative, and strong follow through.\nCollaborate closely with teammates and stakeholders, communicating clearly and contributing to a positive, solution-oriented culture.\nStay open and adaptable to new tools, frameworks, and domains as project needs evolve.\nAdditional Information:\nWork performed in a contractor facility in Annapolis Junction.\nBoth low and high side access.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\nStrong Java development skills.\nExperience with modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.\nExperience designing and consuming RESTful APIs.\nHands-on experience with containers (Podman and/or Docker).\nExperience with container orchestration such as Kubernetes.\nPractical experience designing and implementing microservices-based systems.\nProcessing paradigms: Machine Learning, streaming data processing, batch processing.\nData stores: MongoDB, ArangoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience developing and deploying applications in cloud environments (AWS) and/or on hyper-converged infrastructure (HCI).\nComfort working across multiple layers of the stack and learning new technologies quickly.\nExperience in agile or iterative development environments.\n\nEducation Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience\nMinimum 14 years of relevant experience in software engineering, modernization, or solution architecture\n\nBenefits:\n10% Employer Contribution to 401K; Immediately Vested\n5 Weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) up to 7 weeks\nAccess to Premium Healthcare/Dental/Vision Available\n$2500+ Training Paid\nReferral Company Profit Sharing\n\nWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
