This role partners with application delivery teams, cloud platform engineering, security, finance, and portfolio leadership to ensure cloud consumption is efficient, governed, and aligned to business outcomes. Operating within the Cloud CoE engagement model, this role combines hands-on analysis and execution with advisory and governance responsibilities, driving measurable cloud cost savings while embedding FinOps best practices into cloud adoption, migration, and modernization efforts.\r\nFundamental Components (Key Responsibilities)\r\nCloud Financial Management & Governance\r\nEstablish and operationalize cloud financial management (FinOps) standards, including:\r\nCost allocation, tagging, and ownership models\r\nShowback / chargeback constructs aligned to portfolio funding\r\nBudgetary tracking and spend variance management\r\nEnsure cloud cost governance standards are integrated into Cloud CoE intake, design, and delivery processes.\r\nPartner with Finance and Technology stakeholders to align cloud spend visibility with enterprise financial reporting expectations.\r\nCost Optimization & Value Realization\r\nLead cost optimization initiatives across cloud environments, including:\r\nRightsizing and right typing of compute, storage, and platform services\r\nIdentification and remediation of idle, unused, or underutilized resources\r\nOptimization of savings instruments (e.g., commitments, reservations, savings plans)\r\nWork directly with application and technical owners to prioritize, track, and realize savings opportunities.\r\nMaintain accountability for validated cost savings, including forecasted and annualized impacts.\r\nCost Transparency, Metrics, and Reporting\r\nDevelop and maintain cloud cost metrics, dashboards, and KPIs, including:\r\nSpend trends, anomalies, and usage patterns\r\nSavings realized versus forecast\r\nApplication level and portfolio level cost efficiency indicators\r\nTranslate cost and usage data into clear, executive-ready insights for Cloud CoE leadership and senior stakeholders.\r\nContribute to leadership reporting, reviews, and audit-ready documentation related to cloud financial performance.\r\nAdvisory, Enablement, and Engagement\r\nServe as a FinOps advisor to engineering teams throughout\r\nCloud intake and technical readiness\r\nMigration and modernization initiatives\r\nOngoing production optimization\r\nDeliver FinOps enablement through\r\nOffice hours and working sessions\r\nTraining materials and documentation\r\nEmbedded Cloud CoE playbooks and best practices\r\nInfluence engineering behavior by promoting cost-aware design and operational practices.\r\nCollaboration & Continuous Improvement\r\nPartner with Cloud Platform Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams to ensure cost-efficient, compliant cloud designs.\r\nCollaborate with Program and Portfolio teams to support financial transparency for strategic initiatives.\r\nContribute to the continuous improvement of Cloud CoE processes, tooling, and standards related to cloud financial management.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nBachelor's degree or equivalent experience\r\n5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, FinOps, or technology financial management\r\nHands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, and/or GCP)\r\nStrong understanding of\r\nCloud consumption and pricing models\r\nCost allocation and tagging strategies\r\nFinancial drivers of cloud native architectures\r\nProven ability to partner effectively across engineering, finance, and leadership audiences\r\nPowerBI hands-on experience to create visualizations/dashboards\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nFinOps Foundation certification (Practitioner or Professional)\r\nExperience working within a Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) or shared services cloud model\r\nExperience supporting large-scale migrations or modernization programs\r\nStrong analytical skills with experience using cost management and reporting tools\r\nExperience in regulated or large enterprise environments\r\nHealthcare domain
