We are looking for someone who reflects these values by working safely, showing up ready to contribute, supporting their team, and helping protect the community’s infrastructure.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerforms maintenance and repair of City streets and storm water drainage systems, including culverts, bridges, storm water inlets, drainage channels, and drainage basinsUses proper safety precautions, personal protective equipment, and portable equipment such as chain saws, pole saws, and grass trimmers during cleaning and reshaping of drainage channels and structuresHelps ensure continuous water flow during storm events through drainage maintenance and debris removalOperates pickup trucks for transportation to and from job sitesMay operate steel wheel rollers when assigned to assist with repair of streets and alleysParticipates in Streets and Storm Water division activities, including asphalt and concrete roadway pavement repair, guardrail repairs, bridge maintenance, culvert maintenance, and reshaping workPerforms mowing operations inside drainage easements and channels, along with tree trimming and debris removalPerforms other related duties as assigned Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED requiredMore than one (1) year of experience in operation and maintenance work requiredCertificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Texas Class B CDL is preferredMust obtain Texas Class B CDL within six (6) months of employmentClean driving record requiredDriving is an essential function of this positionThe City of Lancaster offer a complete benefits packeage to full-time employees which includes: health care; paid holidays, vacation time, sick leave, retirement, longevity, tuition reimbersemet and more.To learn more details, vist our benefits page.
