Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Line Design QA/QC Engineer to support quality assurance, quality control, and engineering review activities for transmission line projects. This role ensures that all Transmission Line designs meet standards, engineering requirements, and compliance expectations through rigorous review, modeling, and field verification.
This position requires strong communication, the ability to work in a collaborative engineering environment, and a solid technical foundation in overhead transmission line design and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Perform detailed QA/QC review of transmission line design packages
Complete and maintain Transmission Line Design QA/QC checklists
Review and verify:
Pole locations
Pole types and framing callouts
Conductor clearances
Pole heights
Structural configurations
Validate compliance with standards, specifications, and engineering practices
Engineering & Technical Support
Conduct PLS-CADD modeling and analysis (license provided)
Review encroachment and attachment requests associated with Transmission Line assets
Evaluate design accuracy, constructability, and field conditions
Collaboration & Field Work
Attend design coordination meetings with internal teams, construction, and external customers
Support field site visits as needed to verify conditions and review project work
Communicate engineering findings clearly and professionally across all stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering
Experience with overhead transmission line design (preferred)
Experience using PLS-CADD (preferred; license provided)
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to attend onsite work in East Mesa 2 days per week
Ability to participate in meetings and site visits as required

Pay Details: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour
