Our benefits are designed to support you and your family’s health and well-being. We offer medical insurance for as low as $20/month, dental & vision, HSA with company contribution, GAP insurance, paid sick time, PTO, paid holidays, plus flexible schedules and a casual, collaborative work environment. AMG is happy to invest in your future with company-paid continuing education & licensing, and clear room for growth as your technical skills and responsibilities expand. At AMG, your work is challenging, your time is respected, and your growth is supported.\n\nMechanical/Simulation Engineer\nAs a Mechanical Simulation Engineer, you will become the SME for creating virtual models of real-world systems and processes using specialized simulation software. You will replicate how a system behaves, test “what-if” scenarios, and evaluate different configurations and layout options to find the most effective and efficient setup.\n\nIf advanced analysis work with real operating equipment is your strength, this role is for you! We are seeking an engineer with a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering who understands pipe stress, finite element analysis, computation fluid dynamics, and real-world industrial systems; someone who enjoys digging into loads, failures, and complex mechanical behavior, not just drafting. Familiarity with material handling, building ventilation, dust collection systems and/or power transmission would be very helpful in this role.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nCreate virtual models of physical systems or processes to test, analyze and optimize performance using software, physics based modeling, and algorithms\n\nPerform pipe stress analysis on industrial piping systems\n\nConduct finite element analysis (FEA) to evaluate mechanical, thermal, and fluid-induced loads\n\nVerify that equipment, piping, and supports can safely handle operating conditions\n\nInvestigate equipment and system failures, identify root causes, and recommend improvements\n\nSize and specify process equipment, piping, and supports\n\nPrepare clear analysis reports and calculation packages for clients\n\nAct as a technical interface between clients, vendors, and internal teams\n\nQualifications\n\nBS in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering with 4+ years of working experience in a similar role\n\nStrong, hands‑on experience with pipe stress analysis and FEA software\n\nBackground in industrial, manufacturing or process environments\n\nAbility to translate analysis results into practical design decisions\n\nComfortable communicating technical findings to clients and vendors\n\nExperience with any of the following: Autodesk Inventor Nastran, Autodesk CFD, Pipe Stress Analysis software with AutoPipe, CAEpipe or Cesar II\n\nAbility to learn and use various software for design, analysis, simulations and calculations\n\nLegally authorized to work in the United States for any US employer without sponsorship now or in the future.\n\nPreferred Skills\n\nFamiliarity with material handling, building ventilation, dust collection systems and/or power transmission\n\nThis position will be located at our Dayton based HQ.
