Richard Design Services (RDS) is currently seeking experienced Level II & III Civil/Structural Engineers.Position SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level, Licensed Civil/Structural Engineer to be part of our team at our Houston Westchase office. The position will report to our Houston Office C/S Department Manager.Job ResponsibilitiesCivil/Structural Engineering scope of work on a wide range of projects (front-end studies, front-end engineering development, and detailed engineering)Perform site visits to conduct structural assessment of existing structures and gather informationAnalyze project challenges and take appropriate actions to ensure the project meets client expectations and the work is completed within established budget and scheduleDevelop engineering concepts and coordinate closely with design teamReview design drawings and confirm that constructability has been maintainedDevelop requisitions for construction materials, field work packages, and coordination with vendors and/or equipment manufacturersCoordination of design and engineering efforts being executed in our high value engineering centerCoordination and interfacing with other discipline groups in the development of projectsJOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (emphasis on structural design)P.E. Licensed in Texas and CaliforniaExperience 5 - 10 yearsFamiliarity with civil/structural codes and standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, OSHA)Good communication skills (active listening, verbal, and written)Work well in a Team environmentBe able to work full time in officeStrong engineering judgment and decision making skillsExperience with structural analysis and design softwareExperience with CAD and 3D modeling softwareStrong understanding of technical information typical of the industrial engineering sectorOpen to learning new information and new work strategiesOpen to thinking outside the box and finding innovative solutionsWork Environment* This position primarily is performed from RICHARD's office located in Houston, TX, but may be posted temporarily on project sites, when required. Field site visits may be required regularly. The work will mostly take place in an office setting, and the employee will need to communicate with others in person, over the phone, and through email. The employee should be physically able to carry out the required tasks.
