Job Overview Seeking a technician to upfit police vehicles, including installing emergency lights, sirens, push bumpers, cages, and related equipment. Responsibilities include removing and reassembling interior and exterior vehicle components, running and organizing 12‑volt wiring, mounting hardware, and ensuring all systems function safely and reliably. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, comfortable with electrical work, and able to follow detailed installation procedures. Responsibilities Install emergency lights, sirens, speakers, push bumpers, cages, and other police‑vehicle equipment • Remove and reassemble interior and exterior vehicle components as part of the upfitting process • Run, route, and secure 12‑volt wiring for all installed systems • Mount hardware, brackets, and control units according to build specifications • Test all electrical and mechanical components to ensure proper operation • Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow safety procedures • Document work performed and communicate any issues or needed parts to supervisors Requirements Basic mechanical skills and experience working with hand and power tools • Ability to read and follow installation instructions, wiring diagrams, and build sheets • Understanding of 12‑volt electrical systems and safe wiring practices • Comfortable removing and reinstalling vehicle interior and exterior components • Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, organized workmanship • Ability to lift and move equipment and vehicle parts as needed • Reliable work ethic, good communication skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team • Prior upfitting, automotive, or electrical experience is a plus but not required * This position provides valuable hands-on experience in electrical installation within a dynamic environment.
