This role ensures patient safety, supports efficient surgical workflow, and works collaboratively with surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and other surgical personnel. While prior scrub experience is preferred, we are willing to train motivated individuals who demonstrate a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety.\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nPrepare operating rooms by ensuring all required instruments, supplies, and equipment are available and sterile.\nScrub, gown, and glove appropriately, maintaining strict adherence to aseptic technique.\nAnticipate the needs of the surgeon and surgical team during procedures.\nPass instruments, sutures, and supplies accurately and efficiently.\nMaintain organization and sterility of the surgical field throughout procedures.\nPerform surgical counts according to policy and assist in resolving discrepancies.\nAssist with room turnover, cleaning, and preparation between cases.\nHandle specimens according to established protocols.\nAdhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards at all times.\nParticipate in on-call rotation as required based on assigned shift.\nTraining and Orientation\nInitial training primarily occurs on the 0630–1500 shift.\nTraining duration varies based on prior experience and demonstrated competency.\nUpon successful completion of training and demonstrated independence, technicians are eligible for permanent shift placement.\nShift Options After Training\n0630–1500 shift: Includes participation in the call schedule.\n0830–1700 shift: Very limited call responsibilities.\n1030–1900 shift: Very limited call responsibilities.\nShift assignment based on department needs and availability.\nNon-Essential Functions:\nAny other duties as needed to drive towards the vision, fulfil the mission, and abide by the values of the organization.\nRequired Skills:\nWillingness to learn and successfully complete scrub training.\nGraduate of an accredited surgical technology program preferred but not required for trainees.\nCurrent BLS certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.\nStrong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills.\nAbility to remain focused and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.\nBasic computer skills, reading and writing.\nAbility to manage time and complete a task from start to finish.\nRequired Education, Licensure, Certifications, & Experience:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent.\nAcceptable orientation and training to perform as a scrub technologist in the surgical suite and other clinical areas.\nCurrent BLS or within three months of hire.\nPrevious OR Tech experience preferred\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to stand for extended periods.\nAbility to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as required.\nManual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform surgical scrub duties.\nSitting: 10%. Standing/Walking: 90%.\nOccasional lifting/carrying of equipment and patients weighing up to 50 pounds.\nOccasional pushing/pulling of equipment and beds weighing over 100 pounds.\nOccasional climbing of stairs to reach other levels of the building.\nOccasional stooping to administer medications and perform patient care functions.\nOccasional /kneeling/crouching/crawling to assist patient and perform patient care functions.\nFrequent reaching/handling/fingering/feeling to obtain supplies, write reports, and perform patient care functions.\nConstant talking /hearing/seeing for all aspects of patient care.\nExpectations\nFull-time position with 5-day-per-week work expectations.\nFlexibility to meet department staffing and call needs.\nCommitment to professional behavior, patient confidentiality, and safety standards.\nEnvironmental Conditions:\nMust be able to concentrate in busy and noise work environment.\nTravel Requirements:\nNone\nCompany Perks:\nOur employees are our most important asset and that’s reflected in our benefits.
