In this role, mobile application development is a core responsibility, not an afterthought. You'll design and ship Android, iOS, or cross-platform mobile applications while partnering closely with backend and web teams to deliver secure, reliable, and user-friendly experiences. You'll collaborate with product managers, QA, and fellow engineers to design creative solutions and improve system performance. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys shipping high-impact mobile features to production while staying connected to the broader system architecture and helping others grow.\r\nThis is a full-time, exempt, remote position open to candidates residing in any U.S. state, with the exception of California. The starting salary for this position is $110,000 - $140,000 based on experience.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nTechnical Leadership\r\nArchitect scalable, secure, and maintainable systems across backend, frontend, and database layers.\r\nSet the standard for mobile excellence by leading design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best-practice initiatives.\r\nEvaluate new technologies and guide the adoption of tools that improve developer productivity and system performance.\r\nDefine and document architecture patterns, design principles, and shared libraries for reuse across teams.\r\nPartner with DevOps to design efficient CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and observability tooling.\r\nSoftware Development\r\nDesign, build, and maintain production-grade mobile applications for Android, iOS, or cross-platform frameworks.\r\nWrite clean, testable, and efficient code following established coding standards and contributing to their evolution.\r\nOptimize system performance, reduce technical debt, and improve reliability.\r\nCollaborate with QA engineers to develop automated testing strategies and ensure high code coverage.\r\nParticipate in production support rotation and proactively drive root cause analysis and prevention.\r\nActively mentor and coach engineers, providing the technical and professional guidance needed to foster career growth and elevate the team's collective skill set.\r\nPartner with Product Managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions that balance immediate delivery with long-term system health.\r\nFoster a culture of shared ownership, clear communication, and continuous learning where team members feel supported in taking technical risks.\r\nQualified Candidates Should Have\r\n6+ years of professional software development experience , with a proven track record of technical leadership on complex, high-stakes projects.\r\nDeep mobile expertise: Extensive hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining production mobile applications (Android, iOS, or cross-platform) that are tightly integrated with backend APIs.\r\nFull-Stack Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of at least one backend platform (C#, .NET, Java, Node.js) and modern frontend frameworks (Angular, React, or Vue.js).\r\nData & API Architecture: Strong expertise in database design (Progress OpenEdge, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB) and the ability to integrate third-party systems and APIs securely and efficiently.\r\nLegacy Modernization: A proven ability to modernize legacy applications into modular, scalable designs while optimizing for performance.\r\nArchitectural Mastery: Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and performance optimization across the entire stack.\r\nDevOps & Cloud: Familiarity with DevOps tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services to ensure reliable and automated deployments.\r\nMentorship experience: Proven ability to guide other engineers, provide constructive feedback, and lead by example in code quality and professionalism.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nArchitectural Depth: Experience designing distributed systems or microservice architectures that support high-availability applications.\r\nModern Infrastructure: Hands-on experience with containers and orchestration, specifically Docker and Kubernetes , to streamline development and deployment.\r\nSecurity-First Mindset: A strong background in implementing secure coding practices and a proactive approach to application security.\r\nFintech Expertise: Prior experience in the financial services or fintech industries, with an understanding of the unique challenges of credit union or banking environments.\r\nCompliance Knowledge: Familiarity with SOC 2 or other regulatory and compliance frameworks relevant to financial data.\r\nTech Stack (What You'll Work With)\r\nMobile: React Native, iOS (Swift), and/or Android (Kotlin) (depending on project needs)\r\nBackend: .NET and RESTful APIs\r\nFrontend: Angular and/or React\r\nDatabases: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Progress OpenEdge\r\nDevOps & Tools: CI/CD pipelines, cloud services, and modern development tooling\r\nWhy Sharetec\r\nAcquired by Evergreen Financial Technology Group (EFTG) in late 2020, Sharetec is now marching towards rapid growth and expansion into new markets.
