Senior Accountant

Team members have the opportunity to work on complex engagements in a collaborative professional environment.The Sr. Accountant serves as a key client-facing contributor within Client Advisory Services, responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities for assigned clients with a higher degree of independence and judgment. This role reviews work prepared by Staff Accountants, ensures accuracy and compliance, and acts as a technical and workflow resource to junior team members.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Manage full-cycle accounting for assigned CAS clients, including complex reconciliations and adjustments.Review work prepared by Staff Accountants for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes.Apply U.S. GAAP and firm standards consistently across client engagements.Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact for routine accounting matters.Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as applicable.Assist with payroll processing, invoicing, and related accounting activities.Document accounting processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.Mentor and provide guidance to Staff Accountants.Escalate complex issues or risks to Supervisor or Manager as appropriate.Provide occasional on-site support at client locations as required to support client needs and service delivery. Provide timely and professional communication to clients and internal teams.Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMinimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting or bookkeeping experienceStrong working knowledge of QuickBooksSolid understanding of U.S. GAAP and month-end/year-end close proceduresAdvanced Excel skillsPrior experience reviewing accounting work prepared by othersPreferred Qualifications:Public accounting or professional services experienceExperience supporting multiple clients simultaneouslyExperience with Business Central, NetSuite, or similar ERP systemsProgress toward CPA or other relevant professional certificationCore Competencies/Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail with the ability to see the bigger pictureEffective client communication and relationship managementAbility to prioritize work and meet competing deadlinesSound judgment and decision-making skillsCollaborative mindset with emerging leadership capabilitiesPhysical Requirements: to perform the essential functions of the position in an office environment, including prolonged periods of computer and desk work, with or without reasonable accommodation.May occasionally lift materials weighing up to 15 pounds.Work Location & ScheduleThis role is primarily based in our San Jose office, with potential hybrid flexibility depending on business needs and position responsibilities.Additional hours may occasionally be required during busy periods, including tax season and client deadlines.
