This person must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand and work outdoors 8 – 12 hours a day. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, including some nights, weekends, and holidays.\nThrough the union, this person will go to classes and complete a set number of hours of on-the-job training for each phase before they can move up to the next one, total of 6 phases before completing the apprenticeship program.\n**This is a Full time, contract position—The position is scheduled to be done around mid-2026. The hourly rate for this position is $23.44/hour, and is part of the Union.\nKey Responsibilities:\nYou will be a skilled track laborer in training.\nMoves and installs various track components.\nLifts rail, etc.\nRequirements:\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent\nValid driver's license for a minimum of 3 years\nWill be trained to use track jacks and must be able to lift 50 lbs. or more.\nWork schedule is Monday through Friday, with some night and weekend work.\nPhysical Requirements:\nAbility to stand for long periods of time.\nGood manual dexterity\nMust be able to sustain alertness under tedious circumstances.\nMust be able to work in various outdoor temperatures and weather conditions.\nMust be able to work variable shifts including nights/weekends/possibly some holidays.\nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this classification.
