This position works a variety of hours/shifts, and focuses on ensuring a memorable experience for all guests through serving great beer and food, selling merchandise, and providing tours of the Brewery. The Tap Room Server/Bartender has great energy and the ability to develop a thorough knowledge of the brewing process, the equipment that DBBC possesses to make beer and Ready To Drink cocktails (RTD), and the beverage industry as a whole. Once trained, this position works somewhat autonomously, and is expected to identify needs as they arise throughout the shift. Base wage $7.50/hour.\nDaily Duties, Functions, Responsibilities\nWait on tables, bartend and host.\nMaintain high levels of customer service.\nEnsure that all the customer service functions (tours, bartending, merchandise sales, food sales, etc.) are coordinated throughout each day.\nProvides tours of the brewery and Outpost facility.\nContributes to a fun working environment.\nCleans the Tap Room.\nStocks beer and merchandise.\nEnsures adequate kegs, moves kegs, and taps kegs.\nOther duties and projects as assigned.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nThorough knowledge of company products (beer, RTD’s, food, and merchandise).\nExcellent personal communication skills.\nSelf-motivator.\nThe ability to deal with challenging situations when necessary.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and guests.\nBasic to Intermediate level proficiency in office-related software.\nAbility to follow oral and written instructions.\nEducation and Experience\nOne-year prior customer service experience (preferably in food/beverage, or brewery/tap room setting) preferred.\nCicerone Certified Beer Server certification, ServSafe certification, and TIPS certification preferred, but not required to apply; training opportunities will be provided after hire.\nPage Break\nPhysical Conditions and Nature of Work Contacts\nRegular contacts are made with the general public. Some communication may be difficult requiring significant levels of tact.\nAbility to lift 35 pounds.\nAbility to manipulate 165-lb. kegs with/without dolly.\nAbility to transport 165 lb. on a dolly (dolly operation).\nCommunication is usually cooperative in nature, with infrequent conflicts resolved by higher authority.\nConducts work in a standing position; however, job requires walking, bending, stooping and lifting.\nRequires frequent operation of tap handles, dishwashers, and movement throughout brewery.\nRequires the ability to speak loudly to large groups of people.\nRequires flexibility in hours.\nOur Story\nThe story of Devils Backbone Brewing Company goes like this: years ago, our founders, Steve and Heidi Crandall, were on a ski trip in the Alps when they tried their first craft beer, a German Weisse at a brewpub & it was like no beer they had ever tasted.\nSo, to satisfy their thirst for a local haunt that served craft European-style beers, they started a whole brewery complete with a full-on brewpub for locals and visitors. It became a place where folks could drink and tell stories about their time on the trail, ski slope, or both.\nThey named it Devils Backbone; the same name brave surveyors, including Thomas Jefferson’s dad, Peter, called this hard-to-summit mountain region almost 300 years ago. Kinda poetic, right?\nIn 2016, Devils Backbone Brewing Company was acquired by Anheuser-Busch. Since then, we’ve continued to brew award-winning beers that we’re proud of, as well as share our beers with more friends than ever before!\nWell, there’s your history, and here’s a bit of our philosophy: we think being slow by nature is of mighty importance.
