This position provides preforms that are fed to the blow molder, caps that are directed to the capper, and chemicals for cleaning in or around the filler. They maintain the cleanliness of their drive paths while assisting with operational activities to ensure minimal contributions to downtime. Duties also consist of chemical and material waste removal, including rejected packaging products.Schedule: 2 Hour Days: This is a day shift position, with hours from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM . The role follows a rotating 2-2-3 schedule: two days on, two days off, three days on, followed by two days off, two days on, and three days off. Team members will work every other weekend , including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.Core ResponsibilitiesFollow all safety policies, work procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Take direction from and report to Production Supervisors.Safely operate various forklifts to move and stage materials or waste.Clean and sort used materials as part of daily operations in an organized manner.Follow First In, First Out (FIFO) guidelines for raw materials and inventory.Ensure all materials are stored properly, paperwork is completed accurately, and system documentation is done on time.Communicate regularly with the supervisor and filler operator about inventory status and potential risks to upcoming production.Store inventory in designated, labeled areas and maintain an 18-inch clearance from walls; notify management if space is insufficient.Keep packaging infeed areas clean, organized, and free of debris during and between runs; maintain audit-ready conditions at all times.Perform monthly and annual housekeeping audits and complete any required follow-up actions.Learn to operate downstream packaging, processing, or palletizing equipment as needed.Support training of new employees and skill development of team members.Complete other tasks assigned by management.QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED required.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to coordinate packaging material needs effectively after completing training.Capable of troubleshooting minor issues and escalating more complex problems as needed.Work safely and efficiently while following all safety procedures.Must have or be able to obtain an Industrial Truck Operator License.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with some ambiguity.Proficient in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication. Food Safety Requirements Report any equipment issues or needed repairs that could impact product quality or safety.Follow all procedures for handling materials, including color-coded container guidelines.Perform all duties in accordance with company, customer, and regulatory standards.Take action to prevent food safety or quality issues.Identify and document any concerns related to product quality, ingredients, or processes.Stop or control the use or shipment of any nonconforming products until issues are resolved.Ensure trained personnel cover responsibilities during absences. Team lifting is required for items over 80 pounds. Pushing / Pulling / Bending / Stooping Duties include pushing and pulling materials when restacking pallets and during cleaning tasks. Occasional bending and stooping are required throughout the shift. Squatting / Kneeling / Twisting / Turning The role may involve squatting to pick up materials or complete cleaning tasks, along with occasional twisting and turning when handling materials. Climbing / Balancing / Reaching The Material Handler frequently steps on and off equipment and uses stairs to access materials.
