This includes AC and DC charging performance, customer-facing features, infrastructure compatibility, and regulatory compliance. This role ensures full traceability from charging requirements to test execution, documentation, and final sign-off while supporting localized validation activities and test campaigns.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop and manage detailed test cases for charging-related functions and attributes, including:\nPlug & Charge and payment systems\nFast charging preconditioning\nBidirectional charging (V2L AC, V2H DC)\nBattery Charge Care Mode (BCCM)\nCharging history and statistics\nCharging Point of Interest (POI) validation\nTranslate charging requirements into executable vehicle-level test procedures and validation plans.\nBenchmark AC and DC fast charging performance, including:\nRange added per time unit\nPeak power delivery\nCharging curve accuracy\nLead and coordinate validation trips at proving grounds and public charging stations under representative and extreme conditions.\nExecute tests and manage data collection, including preconditioning, route planning, instrumentation, and environmental controls.\nEnsure traceability between requirements and test cases using tools such as Codebeamer, Jama, or Jira.\nAnalyze test results related to:\nCharging time and responsiveness\nConnector and infrastructure compatibility\nFault handling and communication robustness\nCharging curve accuracy and peak power behavior\nCollaborate closely with charging systems, software, controls, and vehicle integration teams to resolve validation issues.\nDocument validation outcomes and support release and sign-off decisions with structured reports and tracking.\nSupport test planning, logistics, equipment readiness, and coordination with external charging and test facilities.\nPromote systems engineering practices and structured validation processes.\nPartner with concept and systems architect teams to address engineering and functional challenges.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.\n4+ years of experience in vehicle validation, preferably focused on EV charging systems.\n\nREQUIRED SKILLS:\nExperience writing test requirements and managing change requests.\nWorking knowledge of requirements and validation tools (Jama, Polarion, DOORS, MagicDraw, Codebeamer).\nFamiliarity with U.S. regulations and safety requirements related to EV charging infrastructure.\nStrong understanding of automotive-grade standards and vehicle development processes.\nExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.\nProven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global engineering environment.\n\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\nWork is normally performed in an office, laboratory, manufacturing floor, or machine shop setting where physical work includes, but is not limited to sitting, standing, reaching, kneeling, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.\nMust be able to understand and comply with all relevant safety practices.\n\nFLSA STATUS/WORKING SCHEDULE:\nLocation: Novi, Michigan\nSchedule: Mon-Fri, 40 hours/week\nOvertime: As required\nAssignment Start: ASAP, long-term contract position\n\nDISCLAIMER:\nThis job description is a high-level overview of general expectations of this position.
