THE POSITION We’re looking for a good old-fashioned Word Whisperer—someone who understands that prose are as important to a world-class brand as visuals. The Director of Communications will be responsible for overseeing the execution of a range of high-impact communications programs; building and leading a team of exceptional communications professionals; and partnering closely with leadership at the company to set strategy.Essential ResponsibilitiesDevelop and lead a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with business and brand objectivesOwn our brand voice, tone, and messaging and ensure it’s continuity and cohesion across all platforms and touchpointsOversee content design and copywriting for all externally facing touchpointsLead, mentor, and grow a team of writers and operatorsCollaborate cross-functionally with brand, product, marketing, operations, and leadership teams to ensure cohesive storytellingEstablish content standards, guidelines, and governance to maintain quality and consistencyDrive content strategy for key initiatives including product launches, campaigns, and thought leadershipReview, approve, and coordinate the delivery of mass customer communicationsUse data and insights to optimize messaging and improve audience engagementManage external agencies, freelancers, and vendors as neededRequired Experience & Qualifications10+ years of experience in communications, content strategy, copywriting, or related fieldsProven experience leading content and communication design initiatives, particularly in brand, sales, marketing, and customer-facing collateral.Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills across a range of formats and audiencesDemonstrated experience managing and mentoring high-performing teamsStrong understanding of brand strategy, messaging frameworks, and content systemsExperience working cross-functionally in fast-paced, matrixed organizationsAbility to balance strategic thinking with hands-on executionBackground in UX writing or content design for S.a.a.SExperience in healthcare technology or related industriesFamiliarity with accessibility and inclusive content best practicesExperience using analytics and research to inform content decisions COMPENTENCIES: Core to all positions at VaxCare We Live (and Work) By Our Values Building a team culture founded on trust, collaboration, and delivery excellence Belief in Something Bigger than Ourselves – Capacity to derive meaning from a larger purpose Humility as a Posture of Learning – Burning curiosity to learn without ego Adaptability & Embracing Change – Nimbleness & ready to seize new opportunitiesAdditional “Must Haves” Dependability – Must be able to meet deadlines, work independently, maintain focus, & punctual Interpersonal Skills – Builds strong relationships & contributes to a positive work environment. Must have private, distraction -free workspace suitable for confidential and focused work. Must have reliable high-speed internet to support video conferencing and regular computer use. Must be comfortable being on camera for Microsoft Teams meetings/video conference calls. Must be willing & able to travel on-site in Orlando, Florida at least 2x per year. (Travel expenses reimbursed by VaxCare) Prolonged sitting or standing: Team members must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, as much of the work involves sitting at a computer or workstation.
