This is a once-in-a-career opportunity to be part of a groundbreaking moment in nuclear energy, while developing the next generation of nuclear operators.Job OverviewEmployees in this role are responsible for preparing employees to pass the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) initial and requalification operator and senior operator licensing examinations. This job delivers integrated systems training to employees that covers plant operations and prepares them to stand field and/or control room watch duty.Job Duties & ResponsibilitiesDesigns, develops, implements and presents integrated systems training and initial operator and requalification training programs in accordance with the applicable regulatory requirementsOperates the simulator and classroom display instruction system during training in accordance with approved proceduresDevelops and administers written and oral examinations to include simulator and plant observationEvaluates and documents operator candidate knowledge of controls and systemsRevises instructional materials to reflect changes in plant design, current plant practices, regulations, and/or operating philosophiesMaintains a senior reactor operator certification or license for the site where instruction duties are being performedPerforms other job-related duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh School Grad / GEDBachelor's or Equivalent ExperienceExperience: 2+ yearsNuclear Experience: 2+ yearsPreferred QualificationsBachelor's - SciencesBachelor's - EngineeringSenior Reactor Operator CertificationSpecial RequirementsNuclear Specific Requirements:Bachelor's in a technical field (e.g., Math, Physical Sciences specialty, Engineering) or equivalent education and/or experienceNuclear plant operations experience: 3+ yearsNextEra Energy offers a wide range of benefits to support our employees and their eligible family members.
