The Sr. Process Engineer uses analytical and industrial engineering methods and tools to understand, predict, improve, create and/or control logistics operations and processes.\nThis is a full-time position that will be onsite at our Carpinteria, CA or Bakersfield, CA offices.\nMust be able to travel up to 25% ( as needed) to Avantor distribution centers which include these locations: Carpinteria, CA; Bakersfield, CA; Irving, TX and Visalia, CA.\nHow you will thrive and create an impact Contributes to implementing new distribution processes, tools, data standards, or distribution strategies that will optimize inventory flow or improve delivery timelines.\nManages distribution related projects and/or processes, including performance tracking, process automation or system enhancements.\nLeads continuous improvement initiatives through tools like Kaizen and Lean methodologies.\nWorks on problems and issues with a diverse scope, such as demand fluctuations or cost trade-offs, where analysis of information requires evaluation of multiple factors including supply chain data and market conditions.\nDerives solutions based on limited information and/or precedents, often using forecasting models or distribution analytics tools.\nCommunicates with parties within and outside of the distribution function, including supply chain, procurement, and IT, and external parties.\nResponsible for data management, analyzing performance, identifying problems, and developing recommendations that support logistics management.\nClarify and resolve complex business issues.\nManage data through data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping and/or problem analysis.\nPerform research and benchmarking on industry best practices related to warehousing and transportation.\nSystematically interact with process owners and users to obtain feedback and to verify performance.\nManage the optimization of resources and processes in compliance with company policies/procedures.\nWrite SOPs and training documents to establish standard work and develop initial documents for new processes and systems.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nWhat we're looking for Education College Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience preferred.\nExperience 3+ years of directly applicable experience in a similar position preferred.\nAdditional Qualifications SAP EWM experience desired.\nProficiency using MS Office Suite including Access, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word.\nKnowledge and successful implementation of Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methods and Lean Logistics.\nRequires excellent project and people management skills and a strong understanding of logistics.\nAbility to motivate associates using effective interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills.\nMust be a self-starter, detail oriented and able to manage vendor/business relationships.\nExcellent organizational, decision-making, problem identification and resolution skills.\nDisclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this classification.
