Due to growth, we are looking for a Construction Helper to work out of the Brooklyn, NY area.\nAs an Elevator Helper you will be responsible for assisting the Mechanic on maintenance jobs, keeping the tools and job site organized, running parts and materials, and maintaining tools, equipment and components to ensure safe work practices.\nResponsibilities:\nAssist the Mechanic with the service of elevators.\nTransport tools, equipment, and materials to and from work sites.\nHold, position, and secure parts during installation or repair tasks.\nClean machine parts, rails, and cables as instructed.\nFollow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment.\nHelp with troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues.\nMaintain a clean and organized work environment at job sites.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nMinimum of 2 years’ relevant experience.\nMust possess a High School diploma or equivalent\nPrevious knowledge and experience with either hydraulics, electrical, engines or HVAC is a must.\nPrevious elevator experience or technical military training is highly preferred.\nStrong attention to detail.\nPhysical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces.\nValid driver's license and must be able to drive a cargo van.\nWork Environment & Hazards:\nThe Elevator Helper will work in a variety of settings, including commercial buildings, hospitals, airports, and residential complexes.\nThe job may involve working at heights or in confined spaces.\nHazards may include electrical shock, falls, and exposure to hazardous chemicals.\nSpecial Physical Demands:\nThe Elevator Helper must be able to lift heavy equipment up to fifty pounds (50lbs) or more, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.\nThe job may require standing for prolonged periods of time and working in awkward position.\nWork Contact Group:\nModerate contact with internal departments, regulatory agencies, customers, contractors, and management.\nWe are proud to offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support the health, well-being, and professional growth of our team.
