This position will have a strategic dual role ensuring the alignment of program\ngoals and objectives are critically met. While adhering to program standards and\nregulations, this position will supervise staff providing service learning projects and who\nadminister components of the project; provide support to staff that provide support to\nyouth participants placed in temporary work placements. Monitor and develop training\nand education modules for outcomes and manages employer relationships for\nplacement and marketing strategies for the project. This position is responsible for the\nframe work of the program and all aspects of program implementation.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\n\nDirect and manage project development from beginning to end\nEffectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and\nclear manner\n\nDetermine and assess the need for additional staff and/or resources and make the\nappropriate recruitments if necessary during the project cycle\n\nDelegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel\nIdentify and resolve issues and conflict within the project team\nPlan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools\nTrack project (resident) milestones and deliverables\nDevelop and deliver progress reports, requirements documentation and presentations\nProactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crisis and\nwork with Director to devise contingency plans\n\nCommunication\n\nFacilitates team, client and interdisciplinary meetings effectively\nHolds regular status meetings with project team\nKeeps project team well informed of changes within the project and general news\nEffectively communicates relevant project information to Director and other\nkey participants via conference calls and in person meetings\n\nUnderstands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully\nCoordinate with collaborative partners to identify discrepancies, barriers and\nproblem areas in order resolve and troubleshoot problems\n\nPossesses general understanding in the areas of application\nprogramming\n\nUnderstands and utilizes internet, intranet and power point\npresentations\n\nProfessionalism and Work Conduct\n\nBehaves with integrity, demonstrates high ethical\nstandards, and displays a positive image of\nUCAN\n\nActs in a professional manner at all times and\nmaintains appropriate boundaries with clients and\nstaff\n\nDemonstrates accountability for results and keeps commitments to\nothers\n\nReports to work, meetings, training, and job related activities\nprepared and as scheduled\n\nDemonstrates openness and respect for cultural\nand socioeconomic characteristics of clients and\ncoworkers\n\nUnderstands and supports UCAN’s standard of cultural proficiency\nand strives to meet it\n\nPerforms other related tasks as required or assigned\nTeamwork/Leadership\n\nPossess strong leadership skills in order to inspire\nteam members to attain goals and pursue\nexcellence\n\nIdentifies opportunities for improvement and make constructive\nsuggestions for change.\n\nManages the process of innovative change effectively\nRemains in touch with emerging tools and\nprogramming that may help to add success to the\nproject\n\nBuild collaborative relationships with associates\nand service providers to facilitate program\nimprovements\n\nModel solution focused problem solving skills and work\nto empower and lead associates to do the same\n\nEducation /Job Experience/Certification:\n\nBachelors Degree in Human Services,\nBusiness or related field; Masters Degree\nPreferred\n\nOne year of Supervisory experience in the field required\nBasic computer software experience (word, excel, etc)\nExcellent interpersonal and organizational skills\n\nSpecial Knowledge and Qualifications:\n\nDemonstrated teamwork skills\nStrong sense of responsibility and orientation to detail necessary\nStrong communication and writing skills (presentation) required and\nable to multi-task\n\nExperience working in impoverished communities and/or housing\ndevelopments\n\nExperience working in youth and/or employment projects\nAutomobile and valid Illinois driver’s license\nAt UCAN, we prioritize the health and well-being of our team, as it is essential to our mission of serving the community.
