Position: Purchasing AgentPay Rate: $27.00 /hourlyLocation: Stockton, CASchedule: Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM–5:00 PMPosition SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to support daily procurement and inventory activities in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for sourcing raw materials, components, and supplies necessary to maintain production schedules while ensuring cost efficiency, material availability, and supplier performance.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPurchasing & Inventory ManagementMonitor material usage and generate daily material requirement reportsValidate inventory levels and assist with physical inventory counts as neededSource and procure raw materials, components, and operational suppliesCoordinate purchasing activities to ensure uninterrupted production schedulesReview inventory levels and identify opportunities to optimize stock levelsAnalyze slow-moving and aging inventory and recommend corrective actionsEvaluate quantity discounts and purchasing opportunities to maximize cost savingsMaintain accurate purchasing records and inventory documentationSupplier & Vendor ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendorsNegotiate pricing, delivery schedules, quality expectations, and service agreementsMonitor supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and on-time deliveryResolve purchasing, delivery, and supplier-related issues promptly and professionallyStay informed on purchasing trends, market conditions, and industry best practicesContinuous Improvement & Operations SupportCollaborate with inventory planning, sales, operations, and manufacturing teams to support business objectivesIdentify procurement challenges and develop solutions that improve efficiency and effectivenessSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and operational performanceAssist with special projects and purchasing-related initiatives as assignedQualificationsMinimum of 3 years of purchasing, procurement, or buying experience requiredCoursework or training in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Inventory Control preferredStrong understanding of inventory management and procurement processesExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesEffective communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentProfessional and ethical approach when working with vendors and internal teamsSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaborativelyTechnical SkillsProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and OutlookExperience with inventory management systems and purchasing software preferredStrong computer and data analysis skills
