Software Asset Management (SAM)

Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced Software Asset Management (SAM) Consultant with strong experience in SAM processes, software licensing, compliance, and asset lifecycle management. Hands-on experience with Flexera is preferred; however, candidates with strong SAM implementation experience using other tools will also be considered if they can apply their knowledge to the Flexera platform.Key Responsibilities:Manage and support Software Asset Management initiatives across the organizationAnalyze software usage, licensing, compliance, and entitlement dataWork with stakeholders to maintain accurate software inventory and asset recordsImplement and improve SAM processes, policies, and governanceSupport software license optimization and audit readiness activitiesGather business and technical requirements for SAM implementationsConfigure, support, and maintain Flexera or similar SAM toolsTranslate existing SAM experience from other platforms into Flexera-based processesWork with vendors, procurement, IT, and business teams to manage software assets effectivelyPrepare reports and dashboards related to software compliance, usage, and cost optimizationAssist in identifying opportunities to reduce software spend and improve license utilizationRequired Skills:Strong experience in Software Asset Management (SAM)Good understanding of software licensing models, compliance, and auditsExperience working with SAM tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow SAM, Snow License Manager, Ivanti, Aspera, or similar platformsAbility to understand and adapt existing SAM experience to the Flexera toolExperience with software inventory, entitlement management, reconciliation, and optimizationKnowledge of major software vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, SAP, VMware, or AutodeskStrong analytical and communication skillsAbility to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholdersPreferred Qualifications:Hands-on experience with Flexera is highly preferredExperience implementing or supporting SAM tools in enterprise environmentsUnderstanding of IT Asset Management (ITAM) and hardware asset managementKnowledge of ITIL processesExperience creating reports, dashboards, and compliance documentation
