The Mechanical Engineer will translate established product requirements into practical mechanical designs and engineering solutions while supporting projects from concept and prototyping through testing and production.\n\nThe ideal candidate combines strong mechanical engineering fundamentals with practical, hands-on experience and is comfortable working across CAD design, prototyping, testing, manufacturing, and continuous improvement.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\nMechanical Design & Engineering\nDevelop mechanical designs and engineering solutions based on established product requirements and specifications.\nDesign structural frames, motion mechanisms, enclosures, supports, and mechanical components.\nDevelop mechanical solutions for equipment and systems used in TraXtion products.\nApply principles of mechanics, materials, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and related engineering disciplines as appropriate.\nEvaluate mechanical and electromechanical systems for functionality, durability, safety, manufacturability, and performance.\nDevelop design alternatives and engineering solutions to address technical challenges.\nParticipate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, and applicable standards.\n\nCAD Modeling & Engineering Documentation\n\nCreate and maintain detailed 3D CAD models, parts, assemblies, and fabrication drawings.\nGenerate productionready engineering drawings and documentation.\nCreate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support manufacturing, purchasing, testing, and assembly.\nDocument design changes, testing results, and engineering activities.\nMaintain accurate technical documentation throughout the design and development process.\nPrototyping & Testing\nDevelop and build prototypes inhouse or in collaboration with outside vendors.\nUse methods such as 3D printing, machining, and handson assembly to support prototyping and development.\nDevelop testing and validation methods for mechanical components and systems.\nConduct mechanical testing, including load, stability, vibration, and functional testing as applicable.\nAnalyze test results and make design recommendations based on findings.\nEvaluate system and component capabilities through feasibility studies, testing, and engineering analysis.\nModify and refine designs based on testing and validation results.\nManufacturing & Production Support\nDesign and modify components and equipment to support fabrication, assembly, and installation.\nApply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to engineering designs.\nWork closely with technicians, machinists, manufacturing teams, and external vendors to produce components and assemblies.\nSupport material selection, component sourcing, purchasing, and vendor coordination as needed.\nProvide technical engineering support for production, assembly, product development, and process improvement.\nTroubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing issues and recommend appropriate solutions.\nSupport the transition of designs from prototype to production.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nCollaborate with the Product Owner to understand and clarify product requirements and technical needs.\nPartner with electrical and embedded engineering teams to support mechanical and electromechanical system integration.\nWork with engineers, technicians, machinists, and other team members to develop and refine engineering solutions.\nAccount for sensors, motors, control hardware, wiring, and other components when developing mechanical designs.\nParticipate in design reviews and incorporate technical feedback into engineering designs.\nCommunicate engineering requirements, assembly procedures, and technical information clearly to relevant team members.\nWork with engineers and other stakeholders in the U.S. and abroad as needed.\nQuality & Continuous Improvement\nSupport product and component quality through appropriate testing, inspection, and validation.\nVerify that fabrication, assembly, and installation processes meet engineering requirements.\nIdentify opportunities to improve designs, processes, manufacturability, reliability, and efficiency.\nInvestigate engineering and production problems and develop practical solutions.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives throughout the engineering and manufacturing process.\nProject Support\nSupport engineering projects from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and production.\nMaintain project documentation and engineering records.\nManage assigned engineering tasks and deliverables within established timelines.\nCommunicate project status, technical challenges, and potential delays to appropriate team members.\nSupport project objectives and established budgets.\nTake on nontraditional tasks, responsibilities, and challenges as needed to support company goals and objectives.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nWhat You Bring\n\nRequired:\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n2+ years of professional engineering experience\nExperience with mechanical product design and development.\nExperience creating 3D CAD models, assemblies, and engineering drawings.\nStrong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.\nPractical, handson experience building, testing, or developing mechanical projects through academic or professional work.\nStrong technical, analytical, mathematical, and problemsolving skills.\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.\nStrong organizational and timemanagement skills.\nAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing.\nAbility to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.\nAbility to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.\nPreferred:\nExperience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.\nExperience with mechanical product design and development.\nExperience with 3D printing and rapid
