This position will guide staff on technical interpretations, manage plan review and inspection operations. They will serve as the point of contact for concerns from clients, owners, contractors, and designers. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in the construction industry in code compliance or design who can provide technical guidance, conducts quality assurance reviews, manages training programs, and resolves complex structural or code-related escalations.\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\nPerform commercial, industrial and residential building, electrical, energy and/or mechanical inspections.\n\nReview construction plans for conformity to appropriate code(s) for discipline.\n\nSupervise residential and commercial inspectors.\n\nRespond to complaints and field inspection issues.\n\nProvide municipal and private industry code research and reports as assigned.\n\nAttend project meetings about plan reviews or inspections.\n\nMeet with clients and prospective clients as assigned.\n\nPerforms special plan reviews and inspections as assigned.\n\nAttend meetings with clients, trade associations and represent the company as assigned.\n\nAnswer code questions and inquiries in writing and over the telephone.\n\nAnswer inquiries about inspections performed.\n\nMaintain applicable certifications by attending training sessions as assigned.\n\nPerform off-site assignments.\n\nPerform administrative duties for clients as assigned.\n\nMonitor inspections for assigned staff.\n\nSchedule daily inspection and vehicle usage.\n\nMonitor progress of all large inspection and plan review projects.\n\nPrepare progress reports as necessary.\n\nAttend preconstruction meetings.\n\nPerform status inspections.\n\nConduct performance evaluations for assigned staff.\n\nApprove time sheets.\n\nDocument and conduct employee consultations as necessary.\n\nDuring periods of heavy workload or slow periods, the employee may be required to assist in other areas. Such requests shall not be interpreted as a change in jobs or job description. The employee confirms that he/she is qualified and prepared to perform the duties described herein.\n\nJob Qualifications\n\nThree to five years of demonstrated inspection/plan review experience.\n\nCurrent model code certification (ICC, NEC and related standards).\n\nMulti-tasking ability, flexibility and capability to work in a fast-paced environment.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication and customer service skills.\n\nBasic computer skills.\n\nValid, state-issued driver’s license.\n\nComply with the certification requirements per company policy and as outlined by their supervisor.\n\nPhysical Requirements\n\nAbility to lift up to 25 lbs.\n\nAble to walk on construction sites.
