Performs routine and preventative maintenance.\nOperates and maintains remote wastewater systems located within the Avon and Central Indiana area. Monitors operations including using SCADA.\nEnsures wastewater systems comply with regulatory policies, procedures and rules.\nCompletes customer service work orders and locate tickets. Updates and maintains appropriate system documentation of activities and closes work orders in the appropriate company system in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.\nMonitors capital projects at facilities.\nAddresses complaints and resolves issues within the area of responsibility.\nResponds to maintenance problems with appropriate action and understanding of process/ equipment alternatives, including troubleshooting operational problems and coordinating repairs with outside contractors and internal staff.\nMaintains awareness of operational conditions and/or identifies pending issues/problems, and notifies management recommending an appropriate course of action.\nPerforms all tasks safely, professionally, and in accordance with all company policies and procedures as well as local, state and federal laws, rules, and guidelines.\nWorks closely with company employees and customers.\nAttends training events and seminars to keep current with regulatory changes, become familiar with new technology, and keep current with Operator Continuing Education requirements.\nPerforms additional duties as assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent.\nMinimum 3 years of field experience at a utility or related industry.\nA valid U.S driver’s license.\nReside within 30-45 minutes of Avon, Indiana preferred\nIndiana certifications for Wastewater Class I or above, and/ or Drinking Water DSS or WTI, or above preferred.\nClass B CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) with air brake restriction removed, including tanker endorsement is preferred or must be attained within one year of hire.\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:\nExcellent written and verbal communications skills; communicate effectively (clearly, concisely and professionally) with internal staff and external customers\nStrong customer service skills as this position interacts with the public\nAbility to work independently exercising knowledge, skill, and professionalism while making decisions affecting the treatment process.\nAbility to understand computers/tablets and the basic operation of database, spreadsheet and work processing preferred\nAbility to operate a cell phone and tablet device to perform work activities\nAbility to read, understand and accurately follow operating instructions both written and verbal\nAbility to work well under pressure\nAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment\nA team player able to work effectively in a team fostered multi-tasking environment\nHighly motivated and self-disciplined individual with the ability to work alone.\nWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nMay be subject to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions, mechanical, electrical, gas exposure hazards, fumes, dusts, mists, gases and /or poor ventilation atmospheric conditions.\nAbility to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Completion of a lift assessment is required for employment\nWorking conditions may include travel to other Aqua Indiana work sites.\nThis position participates in a weekly on-call rotating schedule every 4 weeks.
