We then bring those commercially tested solutions to government entities to deliver predictable, measurable impact for the American taxpayer and consumer. rockITdata is seeking a Data Catalog Specialist to manage metadata catalog operations including data classification, tagging, and organization within enterprise repositories. This position will support intake form development and ensure consistent metadata standards across all cataloged data assets.Key Responsibilities Configure and maintain SharePoint-based metadata repositoriesDevelop and manage Power Apps intake forms for metadata submissionApply consistent classification and tagging schemes to cataloged data assetsSupport RBAC (Role-Based Access Control) and security configuration for repositoriesAssist with Power BI dashboard content development and maintenanceEnsure metadata entries comply with DCAT and organizational standardsSupport repository go-live activities and initial user acceptance testingMaintain catalog operations during sustained operations phasesGenerate catalog reports and metrics for governance dashboardsCoordinate with Data Governance Analysts on metadata ingestion workflowsSupport user training on catalog search, discovery, and access featuresRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Library Science, Computer Science, or related fieldMinimum 3 years of experience with data catalog platforms or metadata management toolsProficiency with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power BI)Experience with SharePoint Online configuration and administrationStrong understanding of data classification and taxonomy developmentExperience with metadata schemas and controlled vocabulariesDetail-oriented with strong organizational skillsAbility to obtain Public Trust clearancePreferred Qualifications Experience with enterprise data catalog platforms (Collibra, Alation, Informatica)Knowledge of DCAT, Dublin Core, or other metadata standardsFederal government or DoD contractor experienceExperience with data lineage documentationUnderstanding of healthcare data classificationsPower Automate workflow development experiencerockITdata has become aware of a recruitment scam where unauthorized individuals are impersonating rockITdata recruiters, issuing fake job offers, and attempting to setup payment for the job seeker's new hire costs.
