This person will serve as a senior strategic communications coordinator delivering communications for infrastructure projects on an industry-leading team.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nDevelop content and communications plans that drive engagement across channels.\r\nDraft written deliverables and develop project-specific outreach tools, including but not limited to websites, databases, emails/e-newsletters, press releases, and social media content.\r\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to develop messaging, generate graphic design deliverables, and ensure consistency in communication across all channels.\r\nCollaborate with engineers, architects, designers, and other experts to develop clear and accurate content.\r\nAssist with event planning and management, outreach strategy, and materials development for public meetings, hearings, open houses, focus groups, workshops, advisory committees and other stakeholder meetings.\r\nDevelop and manage scope, schedule, and budget for communication activities supporting infrastructure projects.\r\nServe as Task Lead and own deliverables with minimum supervision.\r\nManage internal and external client relationships.\r\nManage communications databases and tools including Adobe, SharePoint, staging sites, contact logs, and production management tools.\r\nAdhere to HDR and client policies including software use, vendor and contract procedures, quality control, and artificial intelligence guidelines.\r\nResearch industry trends, stakeholders, regulatory requirements, etc., for client projects.\r\nSupport global and local communications strategies with internal partners, creative teams, communications teams, and planners.\r\nDocument all outreach activities including activity tracking and reporting.\r\nPerform other duties as needed.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public policy (e.g., urban, environmental, disaster resilience, etc.) or similar.\r\nWillingness to travel and support our work across Louisiana and Mississippi.\r\nDemonstrated experience driving project delivery, preferably with multiple projects simultaneously.\r\nPrevious consulting and/or creative agency experience.\r\nTechnical writing skills or the ability to distill complex information into palatable messaging for various audiences.\r\nExperience using social media platforms and implementing social media campaigns.\r\nProficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign and Illustrator).\r\nFamiliarity with Content Management Systems.\r\nExperience communicating with and/or on behalf of government agencies or municipalities is beneficial but not required.\r\nExperience working in a team setting with the ability to coordinate with and delegate tasks to team members.\r\nService- and client-oriented personality with the ability to handle multiple assignments at a time and meet set deadlines.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nAt least 5 years of relevant industry experience.\r\nExperience leading social media campaigns.\r\nService- and client-oriented personality with the ability to handle multiple assignments at a time and set and meet deadlines.\r\nSelf-starter; can work well independently or in a team environment.\r\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\r\nStrong organizational skills.\r\nAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.\r\nPrimary Location: United States-Louisiana-Metairie\r\nOther Locations: United States-Mississippi-Flowood\r\nIndustry: Strategic Communications\r\nSchedule: Full-time\r\nEmployee Status: Regular\r\nBusinessClass: Strategic Communications\r\nJob Posting: May 15, 2026\r\nAt HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
