{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"612d3265ccb564aea2bf8903","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/612d3265ccb564aea2bf8903","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/612d3265ccb564aea2bf8903","title":"Order Puller - 1st shift","description":"Now Hiring: Bilingual Order Puller\nLocation: Houston, TX 77051\nSchedule: 6:00am-3:30pm\nPay: $17-$19/hour\n\nThe Houston branch of Openwork has partnered with a growing Pipe, Valve & Flange company in Houston to add an Order Puller to their team!\n\nPosition Summary:\nPerform core warehouse functions, including receiving and processing incoming inventory, pulling and filling customer orders, packing materials for shipment, and maintaining organized stock areas—primarily working with pipe, valves, flanges, and fitting products.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\n\nOrder Fulfillment: Retrieve, pick, and fill orders from warehouse stock according to order sheets or RF scanner instructions.\n\nShipping & Receiving: Assist with loading and unloading delivery trucks, checking in new merchandise, sorting inventory, and staging orders for transport.\n\nMaterial Handling & Equipment: Safely operate material handling equipment, including sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and high-reach order pickers, to pick and move heavy industrial products.\n\nPackaging & Staging: Assemble pallets, wrap, strap, and package orders securely to ensure material integrity during transit.\n\nStock & Inventory: Store and place items on racks, shelves, or bin locations according to organizational standards.\n\nSafety & Maintenance: Keep work stations, pallet areas, and aisles clean and clutter-free (sweeping, dusting, mopping); strictly follow safety guidelines and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\nMust be bilingual (English/Spanish)\n\nExperience: 1 to 2+ years of warehouse experience preferred, specifically in shipping, receiving, or order pulling.\n\nEquipment Proficiency: Hands-on experience with sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, or order pickers.\n\nIndustry Knowledge: Familiarity with pipe, valves, carbon flanges, and fittings (PVF industry) is a major plus.\n\nLifting Capability: Frequently lift and move objects weighing 10–50 lbs, and occasionally maneuver materials weighing over 100 lbs with appropriate equipment/assistance\n\nEnvironment: Industrial warehouse setting; exposure to fluctuating seasonal temperatures and high-capacity material equipment.\n\nPPE Required:\n\nHardhat; Type 1 Class E, Orange (high visibility)\n\nSafety Glasses – ANSI z87+, Clear\n\nSafety Vest – Type R, Class 2, None FR, Yellow/Green, or Orange\n\nCut resistant gloves LVL 4+\n\nSteel Toed Boots (at least 5” ankle coverage)\n\nBenefits If Hired Permanently:\nMedical\nDental\nVision\n401k\nPTO\nHolidays\nFSA/HSA\nLife Insurance\nSTD/LTD\n\nClick on Apply Now to be considered for the Order Puller role in Houston, Texas, or visit our website www.openwork.com to explore other available opportunities.\n\nAbout Openwork:\n\nOpenwork is a talent-first staffing company on a mission to bring ease and thoughtfulness to an industry we’ve held a footing in for 50+ years.
