Located in ten states with more than 60 locations in operation or under development, Pet Paradise continues to expand in the United States.We are currently searching for a Bookkeeper to join our collaborative Accounting Team at our San Marco Headquarters in Jacksonville!The Bookkeeper will be responsible for completing account reconciliations, preparing journal entries, assisting with accounts payable, and performing other accounting and reporting duties. Qualified candidates will be detail-oriented, trustworthy, conscientious, organized and communicative, with strong accounting and administrative skills and a passion for best practices.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliationsPrepare and post general ledger journal entries in Microsoft DynamicsEnsure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant accounting standardsReview, approve, and process travel and expense card transactionsAssist with accounts payable processing, including but not limited to vendor setup, invoice entry, approval routing, and payment processingMaintain accurate and organized financial records and documentationAssist with month-end and year-end close processesCommunicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to investigate and resolve discrepanciesSupport management and accounting staff with financial reporting and special projects as neededQUALIFICATIONS:2+ years of accounting experience in a private company or public accounting environment, performing bookkeeping functions such as accounts payable, reconciliations, providing payroll support, and making general ledger entriesHigh school diploma required, business or accounting degree preferredStrong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulationsAdvanced hands-on experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, Dynamics, etc.)Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables)Proven customer service, relationship-building, and communication skillsMust be detailed oriented, highly administrative, and organizedTrustworthy, conscientious, and able to keep information confidentialAbility to effectively communicate with managers, supervisors, employees and outside vendors/agentsComfortable managing deadlines and balancing multiple processes and prioritiesOrganized, detail-oriented team player who can work independently as neededWork onsite in an office environment at Pet Paradise HQ, in the San Marco area of JacksonvilleAuthorized to work in the US without sponsorship and ability to pass a criminal background checkCheck out our Perks & Benefits!Complimentary Pet Day Camp!30 Days of Complimentary Pet Boarding (non-holidays)Discounted Veterinary Care and Grooming ServicesPaid Time Off401(k) Savings Plan with Company MatchHealth (with company-funded HSA option), Dental and Vision InsuranceOn-demand Pay with DailyPayDog/Cat Adoption Assistance and Pawternity LeaveFitness ReimbursementCommunity Perks DiscountsEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) with added mental health benefitWE ARE A DRUG-FREE, SMOKE-FREE, EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER.
