The Mechanical Engineer improves upon the performance and design of existing products and overseas production and shipping of final products. The Mechanical Engineer will also support sales through quoting and by providing expertise to customers.#ZR\nReports to: Engineering Manager\nLocation: Berea, OH, Hybrid after 90 days\nEssential Functions:\nDesign and modify new and / or existing parts to enhance manufacturability, better meet the customer’s needs, and reduce production time.\nReview quoting opportunities and support the sales team and customers with product expertise.\nReview contracts and supporting documents ensuring all information is transferred to relevant groups (engineering, quality, production, etc)\nCommunicate with customers on a technical basis regarding design changes, technical information, and to resolve any issues.\nPerform failure analysis and offer solutions based on findings.\nCollaborate with vendors to evaluate options and ensure best solution for customer.\nManage projects and provide engineering oversight to production during fabrication; answer questions and provide solutions as needed.\nOccasionally travel to customer sites to support sales and provide technical expertise.\nEstablish standards and best practices.\nSee projects through the shop all the way from design to shipping.\nRequirements:\nBS in Engineering, or similar education combined with experience, will be required. Mechanical Engineering preferred.\nMinimum of 3 +years’ experience in Engineering in a steel manufacturing environment; welding knowledge preferred and exposure to ASME or AWS code work a plus.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings.\nProficient with technology, especially use of software including Microsoft Office and 3D Modeling software (Solid works preferred).\nAbility to use drawing, math skills and other tools to analyze complex problems.\nMultitasking with a strong attention to detail.\nExcellent organizational skills.\nDesire to learn, grow, and advance within the organization.\nCore Values\nDo Right Always!\nCustomer Centric Teamwork\nGet it Done!
