This position is responsible for preparing surfaces, mixing coatings, and applying industrial paints and protective finishes to metal components and equipment while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.\r\nThis is an excellent opportunity for candidates with industrial manufacturing, shipyard, fabrication, steel, or commercial coating experience who are looking for stable, long-term employment with the potential for permanent placement.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nPrepare surfaces for painting through cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and other preparation methods.\r\nMix paints, coatings, thinners, and chemicals according to specifications.\r\nApply industrial coatings using spray equipment, brushes, rollers, and other painting tools.\r\nOperate and maintain painting equipment and related tools.\r\nApply paint, epoxy coatings, rust-preventive coatings, and specialty finishes to metal products and equipment.\r\nRead and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings, and specifications.\r\nInspect finished work to ensure quality standards are met.\r\nSafely handle and dispose of paints, chemicals, and waste materials.\r\nFollow all company safety procedures and environmental regulations.\r\nAssist with troubleshooting painting equipment and coating applications as needed.\r\nWork effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\r\nQualifications Required\r\nHigh School Diploma or GED.\r\nMinimum of 1 year of industrial painting experience.\r\nExperience using paint sprayers and industrial painting equipment.\r\nAbility to work safely around paints, coatings, solvents, and industrial chemicals.\r\nAbility to read and follow work instructions and safety procedures.\r\nStrong attendance and reliability record.\r\nMust be clean-shaven and able to wear a respirator.\r\nPreferred\r\nExperience with industrial coatings, epoxy coatings, or protective coatings.\r\nManufacturing, fabrication, shipyard, or steel industry experience.\r\nForklift or man-lift experience.\r\nAbility to read blueprints and technical drawings.\r\nAIDT or technical training.\r\nPhysical Requirements\r\nFrequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, and work in various positions throughout the shift.\r\nAbility to lift and move materials weighing up to 70 pounds.\r\nAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.\r\nAbility to wear respiratory protection and other required PPE for extended periods.\r\nWork Environment\r\nDust, fumes, and airborne particles\r\nIndustrial chemicals and coatings\r\nMoving mechanical equipment\r\nLoud noise levels\r\nTemperature fluctuations and outdoor conditions\r\nImportant Employment Requirements\r\nBackground Check Required\r\n10-Panel Drug Screen Required\r\nRespirator Fit Test Required\r\nBlood Draw Required Prior to Start\r\nMonthly Blood Draw Program Participation Required\r\nMust Successfully Complete Required Safety Training\r\nMust Remain Clean-Shaven to Maintain Respirator Compliance\r\nSirius Staffing is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
