Per Diem-Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN)/Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT)

JOB SUMMARY Reporting primarily to the Nursing Manager, The LVN/LPT provides care in a caring, safe, and efficient manner according to program standards, procedures and individualized treatment plans. The staff in this position plays a paramount role in the delivery of healthcare services with the team at Neurish Wellness. This position oversees client medications via med-monitoring, evaluations, and assessments. Neurish Wellness operates a series of evidence-based treatment centers for adults struggling with mental health diagnosis & co-occurring issues. At Neurish Wellness, we offer clinically sophisticated mental health treatment for patients suffering from mental illness in order to restore & change the quality of their lives. This nursing staff will partner with the Director of Nursing and Executive Director to establish and maintain a therapeutic environment and routine for our residents. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS The Behavioral Health Nurse provides care in a caring, safe and efficient manner according to program standards, procedures and individualized resident care plans. · Follow Physician's instructions on medication management protocol and procedures. Maintain safe resident living areas and support residents in recovery supportive environment. Collaborates with physicians, case managers and therapists Monitor clients physical and emotional well-being, rounds, vital signs checked per physician order. Assists in determining appropriate medical needs for medication or services according to company procedures and federal regulations. Monitor clients for signs/symptoms of medication reaction. Conducting withdrawal and medication side effect assessments, vital signs, respiration rate assessments Provides medical care to clients including administering injections, tablets, shots, etc. It is acceptable to discuss medical matters with clients during their treatment Write notes and reports, as protocol and procedures indicated. Document and report on the client's status to team members. Assist in conducting client interviews/assessments during intake process. Assist in conducting client evaluations during daily rounds. Assists in conducting client assessments during client evaluation meetings. Coordinates with all departments of service to provide excellent service to the clients and employees. Complete transcription of doctor’s orders pertaining to modified protocols. Assist clients with personal hygiene and all activities of daily livings (ADL’s). Attending job-related meetings, in-service training, staff development trainings. Maintains nursing supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed. Qualifications/Job Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. · High School Diploma required, Bachelor's Degree preferred. · Current LVN/LPT/RN license in State of operations required. · CPR and First Aid Certified. · Previous experience in Primary Mental Health/Chemical Dependency treatment environment required. · Demonstrated knowledge of DSS, DHCS, and TJC (JCAHO) accreditation regulations (preferred): Social Rehabilitation Programs, Transitional Residential Programs, & Crisis Stabilization Facilities. · Knowledge of basic principles, practices and techniques of mental health and drug and alcohol intervention. · Knowledge of medications effects, indications, and contraindications. · Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar. Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens well; responds well to questions; & demonstrates appropriate group presentation skills. · Flexibility is a must-need to be willing to work weekends, evenings, and NOC shifts. Not excluding holidays · Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. · Must pass FBI/DOJ Livescan Background check.
