Job DescriptionKey Areas of ResponsibilityOperate and maintain a landfill gas-fueled power plant consisting of multiple spark-ignition reciprocating engines and associated auxiliary equipment.Comply with all workplace, federal, state, and OSHA safety guidelines and obligations.Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on: Fixed plant equipment (e.g., engines, generators, pumps, chillers, valves).Gas Collection and Control System (GCCS)Document and report equipment maintenance, operations, and conditions accurately.Conduct fault-finding and necessary repairs on electrical and mechanical systems.Support on call schedule and respond to call outs in a reasonable timeframe.Perform routine housekeeping duties.Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations.Support and comply with Company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the Company's employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by Managers/Supervisors.In addition to the duties set out above, the Operator may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the Company.Person SpecificationWillingness to work weekends, holidays, and on-call hours.Effective communication skills (verbal and written).Teamwork skills to cooperate and communicate effectively with co-workers and contractors, including in high-stress situations.Ability to read, write, hear, and communicate effectively to complete job duties.Visual acuity sufficient for job-related responsibilities.Physical stamina to stand, sit, bend, squat, crawl, climb, stoop, and walk for extended periods.Capability to lift up to 80 pounds.Willingness to travel by automobile and/or airline for extended periods, when needed.Qualifications and ExperienceValid driver's license with a clean driving record.Background in mechanical or electrical maintenanceBasic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to collect and interpret data, and write clear, accurate reports and specifications.Experience with gas and/or diesel reciprocating enginesAbility to troubleshoot and repair mechanical or electrical systems.Capability to work autonomously and self-motivate in a multi-skilled environment.Proficiency in using computers, instrumentation, metering, and/or monitoring equipment to measure, record, and adjust operating parameters.EDL is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.About UsEDL owns and operates a global portfolio of power stations in Australia, North America and Europe.
