Company Overview FOCUS provides cloud‐based core administration solutions for property & casualty insurance companies and MGAs. Position Summary Policy Underwriting & Risk Assessment (50%) – Review and process applications, inspections, endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements to determine eligibility and make risk selections. Agent & Client Support (50%) – Serve as subject matter expert for agents, handle inbound calls/chats, provide guidance on policy forms, coverage options, and application status. Responsibilities Analyze applications, inspections, and endorsements to make risk selection decisions. Accept or reject applications and determine coverage, pricing, and endorsements. Process requests for cancellations, reinstatements, and endorsements while maintaining service standards. Respond to agent and client inquiries regarding bind requests, changes, cancellations, reinstatements, inspections, missing information, and quote acceptability. Maintain strong agent relationships through proactive communication and timely resolution of inquiries. Ensure timely and accurate processing of tasks to support departmental and client needs. Stay current on underwriting rules, policy forms, industry trends, and regulatory requirements. Recommend process improvements to enhance underwriting quality and efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. 5+ years experience in underwriting or related functions. Proficiency in risk evaluation, premium calculation, and policy adjustments. Customer service and conflict‐resolution skills. Self‐motivated, disciplined, and able to maintain productivity without direct supervision. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Active 2‐20 or 4‐40 license, or industry designation such as CPCU or CIC preferred. Work Environment Fully remote; requires a dedicated, distraction‐free workspace and reliable internet connection. Must use company‐provided computer, headset, and other necessary equipment. Work schedule may include standard business hours with flexibility for peak call/chat volumes. Must adhere to data security and confidentiality standards.
