Parts & Inventory Supervisor

Job Description Parts Operations LeadDepartment: ManufacturingJob DescriptionThe Parts Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Parts Department, ensuring accurate inventory management, efficient movement of parts throughout production, and strong team leadership. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring active participation on the production floor while managing department processes, personnel, and inventory systems. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of leading a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:• Opportunity for Management growth• Lead the day-to-day work of the Parts Department Team• Maintain accurate inventory counts, including routine cycle counts• Ensure all incoming parts are properly received, labeled, and placed into inventory• Coordinate timely movement of parts between workstations to maintain production flow• Monitor and track incoming purchase orders (POs)• Collaborate with department leads to ensure parts availability aligns with production schedules• Hire, train, supervise, and develop Parts Department team members• Manage inventory movement and Work-in-Process (WIP)• Work closely with logistics to ensure timely shipping and delivery• Implement and maintain an inventory tracking system to optimize control and traceability• Actively work alongside the team on the production floor, including operating equipment such as forklifts when needed QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS• Previous experience in inventory management, parts coordination, or manufacturing leadership preferred• Supervisory or team leadership experience preferred• Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification)• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training is a plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Strong communication and leadership skills• Solid Mathematical skills for accurate inventory management• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes loud manufacturing environment• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to motivate others• Ability to develop strong product knowledge• Detail-oriented with strong follow-through Start your career at Post Equipment.
