The Environmental Specialist will oversee the implementation and adherence to environmental programs, conduct audits, manage emissions monitoring systems, and support waste management initiatives. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental regulations, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental performance.\n\nResponsibilities:\nEnvironmental Program Compliance: Ensure all employees and contractors adhere to plant environmental programs and stay in compliance with federal and state agencies.\nEnvironmental Audits: Conduct environmental audits and coordinate with site personnel to prevent potential Notices of Violation (NOC/NOV) conditions, resolving corrective and preventative actions promptly and professionally.\nEmissions Monitoring Systems: Support the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) compliance to ensure 90% or higher data availability for compliance reporting, including EKAPCD/EPA requirements, hardware, software, and RATA.\nVisible Emissions Observations: Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly visible emissions observations (VEOs) of stacks and drop points, including Method 9 and 22.\nData Requests and Gathering: Assist in completing data requests for regulatory agencies and parent company UNACEM in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring all data is double-checked with sufficient backup documentation.\nReporting: Timely and accurately complete all necessary regular and ad hoc reports to maintain compliance with permit requirements.\nProduct/Service Management: Ensure parts and services are entered into SAP and create work notifications for maintenance to maintain compliance.\nQuarterly Inspections: Conduct SWPPP and SPCC inspections to show compliance with state and federal requirements.\nWaste Management: Support waste management efforts by coordinating with departments and vendors for pickups and maintaining accurate records.\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nExperience: 1 to 3 years of experience in an environmental or related role within the mining industry.\nIndustry Knowledge: Familiarity with environmental compliance in a mining or cement plant environment.\nTechnical Expertise: Experience with MKS 2000, SOPAS, Cemlink 6, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SAP, ABB/Pi, Delta Cal, Loggernet, and small hand tools.\nEducation: Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field (preferably Environmental Engineering, Science, or related).\nRegulatory Knowledge: Understanding of environmental regulations and the ability to ensure compliance in daily operations.\n\nBenefits:\nCompensation: Annual salary range $69,000 to $83,000 dependent on experience.\nHealth Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.\nAdditional Benefits: Life insurance, 401(k) plan, paid time off (PTO), and paid holidays.\nWork Environment: Positive and supportive work environment focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.\nEOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
