Our team is the trusted structural partner for architects, general contractors, and building owners across North America.\n\nWe are looking for 2027 graduates to fill the position of Entry-level Structural Engineer for our Buildings Practice in Charlotte, North Carolina. The structural engineer will analyze, design, plan, and create structural components and structural systems to achieve design goals for LJB clients.\n\nAnnual Compensation: $70,000-90,000 based upon experience, certifications, and regional market standards.\n\nBenefit Information: Here\n\nENTRY-LEVEL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\n\nAbility to complete structural calculations for structural systems including superstructures, foundations, and floor slabs.\nAssists with the preparation of construction documents needed for vertical building structures.\nCoordinates with design staff to ensure accurate document and drawing production.\nCommunicates with the team and clients regarding project issues and attends meetings under the direction of a supervisor.\nResponsible for maintaining technical knowledge through completion of various training initiatives: attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, attending in-house systems/management training.\n\nAdditional Responsibilities and Duties:\n\nAbility to analyze situations and identify ways to improve efficiency.\nAbility to react quickly and calmly to high-pressure situations.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in team settings.\nOccasionally visits work site, monitoring project progress and reports findings.\nAbility to meet all safety requirements if/when visiting a work site.\nOccasional travel may be required.\nOpen to future growth of their position into a Project Manager role, if desired.\n\nENTRY-LEVEL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER ESSENTIAL CREDENTIALS:\n\nEducation:\n\nBachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering with structural emphasis required.\nThe ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license within four years is desired.\n\nQualifications:\n\nCAD experience (Revit and Bluebeam preferred) STRAP or other structural analysis software experience preferred.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills required.\n\nLJB Inc. is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
