Activities include: coding/programming, diagnosing and remediating issues, contributing documentation, and formulating test plans in accordance with company standards and methodologies. The position collaborates closely with business stakeholders, end users, vendors, and systems teams and may provide project management support for small-scale projects under the direction of an IT Director or IT Business Area Manager. Moreover, this position is responsible for driving application changes based on business objectives.\n\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS\n\nBusiness Impact\n\nActions have a positive impact on both short-term and long-term results significant to a business unit, including providing the customer with a consistent positive experience.\nResponsible for providing sound business-process and technical recommendations and solutions.\nResponsible for development of applications and deployment of releases utilizing SSAB’s systems such as Azure DevOps.\nResponsible for identifying and/or participating in projects that increase the Americas ROI either through cost savings or increased revenue.\nProblem Solving\n\nResponsible for analyzing data and drawing conclusions to troubleshoot and resolve break/fix issues in a timely manner.\nResponsible for taking ownership of issues or activities and seeing them through to completion, even when transferring to another area of responsibility.\nRecommends and implements application solutions, utilizing best practices, to meet both novel and long-standing business needs.\nParticipates in the development of new applications and interfaces to existing systems. Supports existing systems and ensures all systems are robust and highly available.\nKnows when and how to escalate unwise IT requests to management.\nJob Knowledge & Skills\n\nActs with technical competence as a software developer and serves as a role model within the team.\nResponsible for assisting with the development of functional specifications by working closely with users.\nAble to understand and map business processes to application functionality, based on stated user requirements, technical expertise, and business knowledge.\nUnderstands SSAB’s user processes and policies and can function as a super user within assigned applications.\nLeadership & Teamwork\n\nAbility to continuously improve processes and work constructively with others within a high-performing team environment.\nAccountable for own work & deadlines.\nAble to perform daily duties with minimal supervision.
