This position will provide instruction for non-credit CPR/AHA courses delivered on campus and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on teaching and helping learners build critical emergency response skills.\r\nWorking Hours: Class schedules will vary based on program need. Courses will be held on campus, and specific days/times will be determined based on demand and instructor availability.\r\nCompensation: Adjuncts are paid $50 per contact hour (hours with students). Interviews will occur on a rolling basis until the position is filled.\r\nMajor Responsibilities: Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned CPR/AHA courses in accordance with American Heart Association standards, course objectives, and College policies.\r\nMakes optimal use of available technology and instructional tools to enhance training and support a variety of learning styles.\r\nDevelops and maintains course outlines, lesson plans, training materials, and instructional resources as required by American Heart Association guidelines.\r\nMaintains accurate student records, course documentation, and certification paperwork as required by the College and American Heart Association.\r\nEngages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and contribute to a positive training experience with Ivy Tech Community College.\r\nDemonstrates the use of active teaching strategies and hands-on training methods to ensure students successfully demonstrate required CPR and emergency response skills.\r\nInteracts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner and complies with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.\r\nEnsures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.\r\nThis is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.\r\nMinimum Qualifications: Must hold a current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification.\r\nMust have attended the AHA Training Institute update for the current renewal period.\r\nDemonstrated knowledge of CPR and emergency response training standards.\r\nAbility to effectively instruct adult learners in both classroom and skills-based training environments.\r\nPreferred Qualifications Previous experience teaching CPR, First Aid, BLS, or other emergency response courses.\r\nExperience training healthcare professionals, first responders, or adult learners.\r\nExperience delivering hands-on instruction or simulation-based training\r\nIvy Tech is committed to supporting the well-being, growth, and financial security of our part-time employees.
