Job Title: Desktop Computing Consultant (Endpoint Migration) Location: Onsite New York City Job Type: Contract ( 5 days/week) OverviewWe are seeking experienced Desktop Computing Consultants to support a large-scale endpoint migration initiative. The project involves transitioning approximately 350 devices including desktops, laptops, and mobile phones from legacy management systems to modern endpoint management platforms such as Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and VMware Workspace ONE.Key Responsibilities Pre-Migration ActivitiesLearn and validate defined migration processes and proceduresTest and fine-tune SCCM imaging and desktop replacement workflowsEvaluate and refine MDM migration processes for laptops and mobile devicesValidate pre- and post-migration checklistsParticipate in pilot migrations and adjust processes based on findingsMigration Execution Perform desktop and laptop imaging and deployment using SCCMUn-enroll and re-enroll laptops into the new MDM platform (Workspace ONE)Conduct mobile device migrations, including:Backup of iPhones using iTunesDevice un-enrollment and re-enrollment into new MDMData restoration ensuring no loss of user dataProvide onsite support to end users during device transitionsEnsure successful validation of migrated devices Project CoordinationWork closely with the Project Manager to support communication, scope, and scheduleFollow direction from Service Desk staff for daily migration activitiesEscalate technical or operational issues to Infrastructure and Service Delivery leadershipMaintain accurate documentation of migration progress and issuesRequired QualificationsProven experience with endpoint migration and deployment projectsHands-on expertise with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)Experience with enterprise mobility management tools, preferably VMware Workspace ONEKnowledge of mobile device management (MDM) for iOS devicesExperience performing device backup and restoration using iTunesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to follow structured processes and documentationExcellent communication and user support skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with large-scale device rollouts (300+ endpoints)Familiarity with IT service management processesExperience working in fast-paced, structured IT environmentsWork EnvironmentFully onsite role in New York CityFast-paced, deadline-driven environmentFrequent interaction with end users and IT teamsKey Success FactorsAccuracy and efficiency in device migrationsMinimal disruption to end usersStrict adherence to defined processes and timelinesClear communication and timely issue escalation
