Are you with us?!?\n\nAhlstrom’s Rhinelander paper mill is HIRING NOW for an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Apprentice.\nThe Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Apprentice works under the guidance of licensed or journey-level E&I technicians to develop the skills needed to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and instrumentation systems. This apprenticeship combines hands-on training with classroom or technical instruction to prepare the apprentice for a successful career in industrial electrical and instrumentation work.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nAssist with the installation, calibration, testing, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation equipment\nSupport troubleshooting of electrical circuits, control systems, PLCs, HMI’s, VFDs, power distribution, electric motors, control circuits, and instrumentation.\nRead and interpret basic electrical schematics, wiring diagrams\nSafely use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment (multimeters, loop calibrators, etc.)\nObserve and follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and electrical safety standards\nPerform preventive maintenance activities under supervision\nMaintain accurate documentation of work performed and training hours\nParticipate in classroom, online, or off-site technical training as required\nMaintain a clean and organized work area\nProgressively perform more complex tasks as skills and competencies develop\nApprenticeship Learning Areas\nIndustrial electrical systems (AC/DC, motors, VFI’s, VFDs)\nInstrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level devices)\nControl systems and PLC fundamentals\nCalibration techniques\nTroubleshooting and diagnostics\nElectrical and safety codes (NEC, NFPA, OSHA, site-specific standards)\n\nQualifications\nRequired\nHigh school diploma or GED\nBasic math skills (algebra preferred)\nMechanical and technical aptitude\nWillingness to learn and follow instructions\nAbility to work safely in an industrial environment\nMust pass post offer physical testing requirements\n\nPreferred\nEnrolment in or completion of a technical/trade school program: Electromechanical, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical System Maintenance.\nBasic knowledge of electricity or electronics\nPrevious manufacturing, maintenance, or construction experience\nFamiliarity with hand and power tools\n\nTraining Commitment\nApprentices must successfully complete all Company paid, required coursework, on-the-job training hours, and evaluations\nAttendance and active participation in training is mandatory\n\nWhat we offer\nVacation benefits begin after successfully completing probation\nRetention bonus of $1000!\nPaid on-the-job training\nCompetitive Medical, dental, vision coverages\nCompany provided life insurance and short-term disability\nLong-term disability, Critical Illness, & Accident insurance\nCompetitive 401(K) plan - eligible to start 1st month following start of employment\nStarting wage $30.15 with potential raises every 6 months until Journeyman\nWork Schedule and Location\nWork Schedule: 6a-2p during training, upon completion of apprenticeship candidate must be able to work rotating swing shift, 8-12 hours, including nights, weekends, and Holidays.\nLocation: 515 W.
