Leads engineering projects and interfaces directly with customers to win new business and continuously improve existing products.\nOur Performance Center in Carson, CA is the Engineered Products Group site for our Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Device, and Radio Frequency (RF) product lines.\nJob Summary\nLeads the Design Engineering team consisting of electrical engineers, radio frequency (RF) engineers, mechanical engineers, and mechanical designers.\nIndividually contributes to the development of new products through background in electrical, RF, and/or mechanical engineering.\nDrives progress in new product development, internal research and development (IRAD), continuous improvement, and sustaining engineering.\nTracks technology development trends and competitive product development trends to help identify and anticipate future opportunities and competitive threats.\nCross-functionally interacts to coordinate plans and achieve results.\nMeasures performance of individuals and teams, providing updates with recommendations for improvement.\nPromotes individual and team training to ensure staff are ready to support initiatives and projects.\nDrives employee performance, development, hiring, and staffing projections.\nReviews and makes recommendations on policies and procedures to maximize department performance, authoring new policies and procedures as appropriate.\nManages fiscal responsibility for department, forecasting future requirements and managing expenses within established budget.\nAny other responsibilities as assigned.\nManagement reserves the right to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions in accordance with business needs, and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job. Other duties may be assigned.\nRequired Skills and Qualifications\nExperience in Aerospace and/or Defense industries. Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.\nExperience with product design and development within a stage-gate process\nUnderstanding of AS9100 Rev C and ISO 9000 is preferred\nClear communication skills\nActive U.S. SECRET security clearance or ability to obtain clearance.
