You will be joining us at a critical and exciting stage as we take our latest generation of complex radio systems from advanced prototypes to scalable, high-quality production.\n\nThe Role : MaXentric is seeking an embedded software engineer to support software development efforts for our custom processor architecture. This role is critical to advancing our R&D initiatives and supporting DoW technology transition. You will work closely with our hardware team to design and optimize software that fully leverages the capabilities of our processor.\n\nOur team focuses on:\n\nSoftware R&D in areas such as security, software-defined networking, and software-defined radio.\n\nDeveloping efficient algorithms and implementations for highly constrained environments.\n\nTransitioning research into deployable products for DoD applications.\n\nWhat You’ll Do\n\nDevelop and optimize software for MaXentric’s custom processor.\n\nPerform low-level programming and system design with a strong emphasis on performance tuning.\n\nCollaborate with hardware engineers to understand architectural features and constraints.\n\nContribute to late-stage research projects transitioning to production.\n\nEngage in full-stack development when needed, from embedded systems to application-level software.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nDegree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).\n\nHands-on experience with software design, development, and debugging.\n\nAbility to design systems and clearly document and communicate technical concepts.\n\nSelf-driven problem solver who thrives in both independent and team settings.\n\nPassion for prototype-to-product development.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nStrong proficiency in C/C++ and familiarity with how hardware architecture impacts software performance.\n\nKnowledge of embedded systems and real-time application development.\n\nExperience with Unix-based systems (Linux, Android, iOS).\n\nPrior work on DoW contracts, especially tech transition.\n\nOverall, we are looking for energetic candidates who are innovative, curiosity-driven, willing to explore new ideas, and are strong team players with excellent communication skills.\n\nNOTE: Due to the nature of our military work, U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for this position.\n\nCompensation & Benefits\n\nGood Faith Pay Range: $80,000 – $130,000 per year. This range represents the good faith estimate of the salary MaXentric reasonably expects to pay for this position upon hire. Final compensation will be based on the candidate's specific skills, experience, and geographic location.\n\nTotal Compensation: This role is eligible for Annual Performance Bonuses\n\nPhantom Stock options\n\nHealth & Wellness: Comprehensive Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance\n\nRetirement: 401(k) plan\n\nTime Off: 152 hours of PTO per year, which includes the California-compliant sick leave\n\nMaXentric Technologies LLC is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
