This individual directly manages technicians and subcontractors, coordinates with other trades, and partners closely with Technical Project Leads (TPLs) and senior field leadership.\nThis role is ideal for a field-first leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, is comfortable living on the road, and has grown from a strong installer into a confident site leader.\n\nTravel Expectations\n100% travel required\nApproximately 80% domestic (US), 20% international\nActive, up-to-date passport required\nFlexibility to work nights, weekends, and off-hours as required by site access\nOn-site durations range from 1 week to 1+ month, depending on project phase\n\nKey Responsibilities\nField Leadership & Execution\nLead on-site execution of structured cabling in data center environments\nSupervise multiple cabling crews (often 30–40 technicians) and subcontractors\nOversee large-scale deployments involving tens of thousands of connections\nServe as the primary on-site technical and leadership point of contact\nStructured Cabling Scope\nOversee all structured cabling work, including:\nCopper and fiber backbone and horizontal cabling\nLow-voltage pathways\nCable pulling, terminations, splicing, labeling, and testing\nExecute and enforce cabling standards for:\nMPO/MTP fiber (MPO12 / MPO24)\nLC breakouts\nCopper and fiber pathways\nQuality, Testing & Compliance\nPerform and oversee quality control inspections, ensuring:\nProper cable routing and bend radius\nCorrect slack loops and labeling\nProper segregation of power and data\nAccurate rack, patch panel, and cabinet installations\nOversee testing and certification, including:\nTier 1 and Tier 2 fiber testing\nOTDR testing and fiber loss validation\nCopper continuity, insertion loss, and PoE testing\nOptical power meter and light source testing\nReview and approve all test results and documentation\nPlanning, Coordination & Reporting\nRead, interpret, and enforce:\nDesign drawings and specifications\nCabling schedules\nWork orders and contract documents\nIndustry standards (TIA, ANSI, BICSI best practices)\nDevelop cabling work plans and schedules aligned with project timelines\nEstablish milestones for pulls, terminations, testing, and closeout\nPlan and manage resources including labor, subcontractors, tools, materials, spares, and test equipment\nMonitor daily field progress and conduct job walks\nIdentify, mitigate, and escalate risks, delays, or conflicts\nTrack job costs, productivity, and forecasts;
