Production Process Engineer
JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION PROCESS ENGINEERLOCATION: LA PORTE, TEXASSALARY: $105 - $125K PLUS BONUSFABULOUS BENEFITSHOURS: WORKS 9/80 SCHEDULEBONUS: ANNUAL BONUS AND SIGN-ON BONUS OPPORTUNITYJob PurposeThis position is responsible for providing engineering support across Production, Maintenance, and Engineering functions, as well as ensuring alignment with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) objectives. Responsibilities include process optimization, control systems management, piping and equipment design, project execution, environmental reporting, process safety management (PSM) projects, and reliability improvements. The role also supports the Technical Department in scaling up new products and enhancing process control systems.Principal AccountabilitiesProduction Support:Assist Production in achieving weekly and annual production goals by analyzing process conditions, recommending improvements to increase efficiency, and ensuring proper documentation in compliance with the Integrated Management System.Control Systems & DCS Management:Lead the daily maintenance and enhancement of the Distributed Control System (DCS). Adjust and create production recipes to meet quality, safety, and performance standards—from laboratory scale through commercial implementation.Project & Reliability Support:Support management with production and maintenance projects. Collaborate with the Production, Maintenance Manager, and Senior Engineer to ensure capital projects and plant operations meet safety, cost, schedule, and performance targets. Identify, develop, and manage engineering projects independently or as part of a team.Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:Partner with the Production Manager and team to implement the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Program and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.Maintenance Coordination:Coordinate with Maintenance to plan and schedule repairs, address potential hazards, and organize improvement projects, including plant turnarounds.Safety and Compliance:Conduct all work in accordance with company Safety, Internal Control, and Integrated Management Systems. Ensure compliance with all relevant corporate policies, procedures, and training requirements.Process Safety & Risk Management:Participate in Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and HAZOP studies, and develop and implement actions to enhance process safety.Additional Responsibilities:Perform additional tasks as assigned to support the organization’s strategic objectives.Knowledge, Skills, and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering required4 - 10 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control systems, and chemical processesExperience with polymer production highly preferredStrong problem-solving, communication, and technical writing skillsProven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teamsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive compensation and benefits packageBenefits begin on Day 1Employee Assistance ProgramsSelf-paced Learning & Development Programs available to all employeesPlease email resumes to Linda Fields at lfields@meador.com
