We provide homeowners with coverage for home systems and appliance breakdowns while also serving as a concierge for all home repair needs.The Impact You Will Have:We are seeking an experienced In-House Counsel to join our legal team. This role will focus on claims management, regulatory compliance, and insurance-related legal matters. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in home warranty policies, contract law, consumer protection regulations, and dispute resolution processes.Your duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Provide legal guidance on home warranty claims, coverage disputes, and regulatory compliance.Oversee claims litigation, including arbitration, mediation, and court proceedings.Review, draft, and negotiate contracts related to warranty services, vendor agreements, and insurance policies.Collaborate with internal teams to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations governing home warranty providers.Manage and coordinate with outside counsel on active litigation and regulatory matters.Develop legal strategies to mitigate risk and enhance operational efficiency in claims handling.Assist in responding to consumer complaints, regulatory inquiries, and insurance-related legal issues.Stay updated on changes in home warranty, insurance, and consumer protection laws, providing timely recommendations to leadership.Oversee updates and improvements to the service contract terms and conditionsWork with all operations, ranging from sales operations to customer service operations, to vendor service operations and much more, to ensure that they operate efficiently as a true partner and stakeholder to operations.What You’ll Bring to the Team:Strong knowledge of home warranty regulations, insurance law, and claims management.Exceptional legal research, negotiation, and contract drafting skills.Ability to work cross-functionally and provide clear legal guidance to non-legal teams.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Education & Experience:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.3+ years of experience in insurance law, claims litigation, or home warranty-related legal work.Prior experience with regulatory compliance in the home warranty or insurance industry is highly preferred.Trial/Litigation experience is a plus.Pay Rate: $170k-210k annually.Please note: This position is open to hybrid work arrangements, with exact details to be discussed during the final stages of the recruitment processOther Titles: General Counsel, Attorney
