WHAT DOES A FT PSYCHOLOGICAL TESTING COORDINATOR DO?
As a Psychology Testing Coordinator at Wasatch Behavioral Health in Provo, Utah, you will play a vital role in the coordination of psychological evaluations for clients referred by government agencies such as DCFS, DWS, DOH, JJS, and DSPD. Your responsibilities will include receiving and processing referrals, scheduling testing appointments, obtaining financial commitments, and maintaining detailed records of testing progress and materials used. Additionally, you will collaborate with psychologists and interns to ensure accurate and timely completion of evaluations, as well as assist in supervising and scoring assessments. This role will also involve administrative support tasks such as maintaining inventory, coordinating with referring agencies, and providing technical support to Psychology Interns. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; plus one (1) year of specialized records technician training provided through vocational school, on-the-job in-service college or professionally sponsored workshops or accredited program;
Two (2) years of experience performing above and related duties;
OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Considerable knowledge of intake processes and procedures, program guidelines related to fee determination and assessments; practices essential to effectively dealing with mentally ill; various clerical processes and procedures related to records maintenance and file retention.
Working knowledge of personal computer and various software applications such as Excel, Word, Power Point, Profiler etc.;
Telephone etiquette; federal and state statutes and guidelines i.e. HIPPA.
Mental health and medical terminology; basic statistics and mathematics.
Skill in performing effective interpersonal communications when dealing with confidential and sensitive information under circumstances involving emotional stress. Must develop detailed knowledge of evaluations, agencies and their different testing needs, requests, and multiple funding options.
Must have a thorough knowledge of Medicaid funding and testing guidelines
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; develop effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers and the public; work independently and manage work assignments in a high interpersonal contact environment; establish and follow through on work priorities; deal effectively with stress caused by work load and time deadlines; demonstrate maturity in dealing with sensitive and confidential material;
May be required to become an accredited/certified as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA). May be required to become a notary public.
