This is a position will be managing and advancing a wide-area IT environment and requires specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise.\nResponsibilities include but are not limited to:\nUses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.\nTroubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues across hardware, firmware, OS, and application layers, often requiring deep-dive root cause analysis.\nAutomation: Develop scripts (PowerShell, Bash) for automating routine tasks and\nenhancing operational efficiency.\nLeadership & Mentoring: Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and act as a subject matter expert (SME).\nProviding server/operating system centric expertise for testing, deploying, integrating, and improving upon new and existing IT capabilities.\nUnderstanding and providing recommendations related to understanding operating system dependencies, physical and virtual server environments, integration with infrastructure resources (e.g. storage and networking), and how to configure operating systems and applications in an efficient manner.\nMaintaining platforms of common hypervisors and enterprise applications, including collaboration tools, Systems Information and Event Monitoring (SIEM) products, directory services, and automation technologies.\nIdentifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities, testing and documenting security-relevant changes, and communicating with vendors to assess new\ntechnologies.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or equivalent field and at least 7 years of experience in information technology, leveraging software applications and tools to meet customer requirements. (2 years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of degree)\nCurrent DoD 8570 IAT II certification (Security +, SSCP, or equivalent) or ability to obtain one within 180 days.\nExperience writing clear, concise, and user-friendly technical and training manuals or similar documentation to include documents required for A&A and system administrator SOP’s.\nAbility to perform Tier 3 operational maintenance on audit systems to include:\nsystem engineering, system administration, database management, backup\nadministration, change configuration and management, policy creation, and\ncertification and accreditation procedures.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nLeadership & Mentoring: Lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and act as a subject matter expert (SME).\nFundamentally skilled and knowledgeable in all aspects of VMWare. VMWare certifications are desirable.\nVMware tiered certification path (VCTA, VCP, VCAP, VCDX) focusing on areas like Data Center Virtualization (DCV), Network Virtualization (NV), Cloud Management & Automation (CMA), Desktop & Mobility, and Application Modernization, with popular choices including VCP-DCV for core vSphere skills, VCP-NV for NSX, and specialists in vSAN or Cloud Foundation, validating expertise from foundational to expert design levels.\nFamiliar and knowledgeable in HPE infrastructure such as HPE Synergy hardware, HPE ProLiant Servers, HPE Storage solutions, HPE SimpliVity technologies.\nExperience implementing, working with or troubleshooting VMware NSX-T\nvirtualized networking and security platform developed by VMware. It enables\nautomated implementation of network policies, network objects, isolation, and\nmicro-segmentation\nClearance Requirements:\nMust have an active DoD TS/SCI with the ability to obtain a polygraph.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\nThe person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
